The house is in a fantastic location; the host (Seamus) was very helpful and accommodating. Very clean, comfortable and small touches like logs ready to light the fire was so nice.

there are beautiful beach walks in the area but it takes some driving to get to them. It is a major golfing destination so very good for that. We are not golfers.
We had a good time there with good beach walks. It is a remote area. We would have no reason to return.

The perfect base for exploring North Donegal, close enough to Glenveagh National Park, Fanad lighthouse (via Harry Blaney Bridge) and Inishowen Peninsula (via ferry from Rathmullan)
Ards Forest Park (and Friary) only 20 mins away is well worth a visit, the coastal walk from Friary leads to the most spectacular secluded beaches
There are two wonderful beaches, Tra Beag in the town and Tra Mor just outside.
Plenty of places to eat with two hotels in the village, plus Fisks for Sea food, The Galley for Gourmet Burgers, Goose and Gander for Pizza, as well as the Singing Pub just outside the village (Steak on the Stone)

The beaches were beautiful, you could go for lovely long walks, and with 2 dogs with us, this was great. Ards Forest Park was lovely and worth many visits. We ate in the Singing Pub a number of times, food was excellent. Takeaways from the Goose and Gander very good. Golf at Rosapenna Golf Courses challenging and enjoyable. Altogether a great week in Downing’s. We will be back, hopefully.

We had a lovely time in Downings except for the weather but as we are from Belfast we are used to it. It is a very scenic place very down with nature which is a lovely change. There are very few shops most of the town seems to be closed which is a pity. Having transport is a must, you can travel around, we weren't able to see things due to the weather but there is nothing you can do about that.
This little apartment is situated in the centre of Downings directly beside all amenities and bars and restaurants. The apartment had everything we needed and an extremely comfy bed to boot. The host had provided some butter, dilute, biscuits coffee even some cereals. Couldnt have asked for better. At first, we were dubious about the outdoor shower but worked pretty well it was dry on our stay so no worry about rain, and not to mention the water was really hot which I love.
set on an beautiful little island this holiday let was perfect for a peaceful break to recharge the batteries. The house was clean and comfortable and is a short car journey to Downings Main Street where pubs and eateries can be found. The area has lots of things to do from beautiful sandy beaches to horse riding and an alpaca farm. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days here and will definitely come back again in the summer.
The apartment was more like villa vibes and had the best views of Downings from the outside dining area. The apartment itself had everything you and your party may need for a very comfortable and luxurious stay in Downings.
Excellent kitchen, with all you will need, bedrooms are spacious and bright. Living area is modern and airy. Super guest experience and Dean looked after us well on arrival. Would highly recommend 👌
A beautiful, clean, well equipped house that made our holiday perfect. In a quiet rural part of Downings but just 5 minute drive from stunning beaches, shop, restaurant and bars. The host answered questions before I went very promptly. And left us the most appreciated welcome pack off all necessities needed to make our holiday home from home.
The house exceeded expectations. The location was great and so central for touring Donegal. There were lots of lovely restaurants just a 15 minute walk away in Downings. The host left all the basics; tea, coffee, milk, bread, oil etc. which was really helpful. We were in cottage 1 with the most amazing view! We didnt want to leave.
Beautiful little boutique hotel. Newly renovated, very stylish. Delicious breakfast made to order. Restaurant/ cocktail bar attached for dinner. Great location, walking distance to everything in the town. Wishing them the best of luck!
The location was superb for our purpose of watching a motorsport event we had a hotel approx 1 mile away where we could get breakfast from 8am and also good food on an evening called the Downings bay hotel
Downings is lovely particularly in good weather, the beach is clean, unspoilt & welcoming. We stayed during the Downings festival & it added to the atmosphere which was family friendly & relaxed.
Excellent apartment and facilities.Could not ask for a nicer stay or location.Very helpful and friendly staff.Would absolutely stay at Bayview apartments next time in downings.
Very friendly staff, spacious room and very clean. There was a very good choice at breakfast and we also ate in the hotel bar one evening which was also very good.
Great location, lovely and quiet. Close to Downings which has many great restaurants and a lovely beach. House is spacious and comfortable. Nice sun room.
Good location, close to the beautiful beach, nice breakfast, spacious room, comfy bed, helpful staff. Enjoyed the dinner at the hotel’s restaurant too.
