Lovely views from our bedroom.very comfortable bed.Bottled water in room tea and cake on arrival.
A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!

Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week.
Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week. There is a limited choice at the best of times, but most places seem to be closed on a Tuesday (and maybe some other days as well).
A tour of Tarbert itself only takes half an hour or less, but it is in an attractive setting. I suggest you pass through in the daytime, have a coffee in Cafe Ca'Dora, buy local whisky from the specialist local seller, and move on.

Tarbert is a lovely little seaside fishing village on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyle. It's a nice location with great facilities for a small village. We ate in the Stonefield Castle restaurant about two miles from the village. The setting and view from the dining room were outstanding, both the service and food were excellent.
I've stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world, over many years of work related travel, and can think of few better than the Knap guest House, (ok I was in the best room, but nonetheless it was great). Met on arrival by Alan, who almost answered any questions before I could ask, smiley friendly guy. The furnishings, with an African feature were really pleasing on the eye. Comfy bed, seats and settee. VG WiFi. A view to die for. Breakfast choice superb, delivered outside door on the button time wise.
The location was perfect. Easy parking. Our room had an incredible view of the bay.
Staff was lovely & very helpful. Fun pub next door. Easy for walking around town & to Tarbert Castle.
Not fancy, but this is a small town so it was appropriate & comfortable for out needs.
The included breakfast was very good, but we had to pass on the 2nd day because it wasn't served until after we had to leave for the ferry.
We stayed at the moorings as we had a wedding nearby at Crear. The moorings is in the perfect location in Tarbert overlooking the harbour yet far enough away that you can’t hear the main street in the evening. Andrew was an excellent host, his house is very clean and the bed was super comfortable. He makes a mean breakfast in the morning which I would highly recommend.
A gem of a place in Tarbert; the hosts Mark and Aby are friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent. Very welcome touch of packed sandwiches, fruit and yoghurt left for us when we had an early ferry to catch. The B&B is well-located on the harbour, with easy walk to restaurants and shops. Mark's recommended chip shop in Oban was also excellent!
We stayed in the Shepherd's cottage, which was lovely and cosy. Perfect for a family. Liz was friendly and helpful, and the cottage was well equipped, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. We loved all the cosy blankets! It's dog friendly which is great, and we all enjoyed a beautiful walk round the adjacent Stonefield Castle estate..
Breakfasts were great and staff were attentive and worked hard. The room on the barge was large and airy. A bonus was watching the tide coming in which allowed the resident swans to reach window height to be fed. The option of swan friendly food being provided by the hotel would add greatly to the experience.
The Knap Guest House is in a great location on Tarbert Harbour. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was provided on a tray to the room which consisted of a hot roll (bacon or egg), toast, cereal, tea, coffee and juice. We would definitely stay here again.
The barge is great in so many ways.
Location is just perfect in the heart of Tarbert.
The decor is great with a great layout.
Wake up to views over the water.
Could do with a freshen up of paint but everything was just great.
Highly recommend and I will return
Tarbert is such a great seaside town and our room overlooked the Harbour and was so clean. We only had a quick night due to a ferry we had to catch but we wished we had booked an extra night to check out the area more.
Great, quiet location with stunning views, very comfortable bedroom, and a delicious breakfast from thoughtful hosts. Just a wee stroll into Tarbert. Secure storage for my bike too - much appreciated.
Really wonderful retreat right in the middle of Tarbert. I just loved this cozy little room. Hugh is a fine host.
Comfortable bed, good shower, adequate clothing storage. Quiet little hotel.
