The breakfast was freshly cooked to our wishes and it was fantastic. The night porter was overseeing things and he couldn't do enough for us. Great start to the day. It set us up for our walk to Silent Valley reservoir.

Newcastle is great for a day out or longer stay.
Newcastle is great for a day out or longer stay. It looks beautiful, even in the rain. It has the natural amenities of the beach and the mountains and in summer there's the big wheel, carousel and boating lake. There's plenty of indoor amusement arcades too. And there are so many places to get a bite to eat - from a bakery hot snack to dinner in the Slieve Donard, there's something to suit everyone. Anyone new to Newcastle should check out Graham's icecream, it's really good.

The shops, including a wide range of clothes, eating venues, take - always or restaurants. Good entertainment , for adults & children. Amusements outside for the young, eg.swimming pool, paddle swans on the river for all ages. There are plenty of parks for walks, exploring nature life either walking or cycling. A short drive from Newcastle will take a route through the mountains, which are beautiful to look at, as well as a walk through Tullymore Forest Park, suitable for picnics

Lots of places to eat. Fun amusements and swan paddle rides.
Lots of places to eat. Fun amusements and swan paddle rides. A swimming pool and Castlewellan and Tollymore forest parks are close by. You can play mini golf at Adventure Golf.
Negatives would be there is a lot of dog poo on the paths and the public toilet in Donard carpark is disgusting. There is one in the middle of the town which is just about passable but you have to use it as the amusements etc all say there's are closed

Loved the apartment it had everything we needed with great Mountain View. The location could not have been more central everything was within walking distance. The apartment was clean and well kept and beds were really comfy. The only downside for some would be the stairs as the beds and bathrooms are downstairs but this was no problem for us. Not sure it was what we had booked with booking.com as we were expecting to be in a different area of Newcastle going by their website but all turned out well.
We had a fantastic stay at Cherryhill Lodge. We stayed in the Garden Room which has a lovely view of the garden and over the Mourne Mountains. Next to this is a lovely sun room which is a lovely place to relax, again with fantastic views. The room was clean and cosy. Breakfast was excellent and Patricia and family very hospitable. It really feels like a home from home. The property is on the outskirts of Newcastle so we'd recommend having a hire car. We hope to come back to do some walking in the Mournes.
The apartment was in a great location on the main promenade with excellent views looking on to the Mourne mountains and Castle Park. Check-in was easy and the apartment was modern and comfortable throughout, with plenty of space for our family of 4. There was also a large, good spec TV and high speed WiFi which was great when the weather was a bit hit and miss.
We had a lovely stay in Newcastle. The location is beautiful, right on the water. The room was a decent size for 3 adults and had a nice bathroom. We absolutely loved the water view! The restaurant downstairs served huge meals for dinner and we really enjoyed the breakfast too. All the staff were super friendly and we would definitely recommend staying here.
The Apartments where in a perfect location. The apartments are spacious, very clean. They facilities are modern & well maintained. The individual bathrooms are perfect so you have that all important privacy while being away from home.
You are right in the heart of everything & you will definitely fall in love with Newcastle Co Down
Walking distance to the Slieve Donard Hotel, walking distance to shops and restaurants, plenty of parking around the corner. Everything we needed was provided in the apartment. Fantastic view of the mountain and the historic church on the Main street. Fast internet, and landlord answered my questions promptly and helpfully.

Everything was perfect. Convenient location to the local hotel where I attended a wedding, 3 mins walk. Easy check in. Cafe below. Warm, comfortable, clean, good mirrors!! Great value for money.
