Staff friendly and helpful, supplying extra pillows. Chef made me a special meal (not on menu) as I have an ongoing health problem. Nothing too much trouble and the position of the hotel was very convenient for a stay involving a family event. Easy to find from A14. Our second visit in the last 8 months.

Maybe we are not looking in the right places but our view of Ipswich is that of a run-down, sad town. Even the waterfront seems an unhappy place.
The nicest hotel-run restaurant we could find for breakfast by the waterfront was probably a lovely place at some point but was worn out and in desperate need of redecoration. We run away from Ipswich for the third time, to decompress in beautiful Suffolk countryside where there are dozens of nice, well looked after towns

I've lived in Ipswich for a good 15+ years.
I've lived in Ipswich for a good 15+ years.
Since my return it has changed for the worse and just feels empty and lacking of anything worthwhile to do.
Parks are good (mainly in the town), lots of charity shops, bookies and pubs but lots of high street shops have closed or just boarded up.
Out of the town, lots of nice pubs to visit and walks if you have a pet or two.

The city has easily available, if you have a car, or like a walk. Access to supermarkets for us as we prefered to dine-in. Plus easy access to points of interest in Suffolk. Great selection of National Trust properties within day-trip distance.

We visit Ipswich Atleast once a year to see family, it is a pleasant city with plenty to see and do. If you are driving I recommend paying close attention to your satnav because the roads can be slightly confusing! There is a lot of history behind Ipswich which can be fascinating also. There are plenty of places to dine and drink whether that’s at a local McDonald’s or a restaurant you won’t be short handed.

Ipswich is a good base to use for visiting other areas, but it is a bit limited on places to eat at night. It has a good Railway service, and also bus service, which we made use of as we did not have a car with us. It is very nice down at the Waterfront, but we were disappointed that there were no boat trips at all when we were there, as we would certainly have gone on one had there been.

The staff was very helpful throughout our stay,we had a problem on our first night with other people shouting and slamming doors. The next morning when I went to complain they had removed the people from site and acting very quick to ensure everyone who was staying there was happy, they went over and beyond to make our stay very relaxing and could not have done any more. So we'll done to the management and staff.
I stayed a week in order to attend an event at nearby Trinity Park with my dog. I had an excellent stay - the staff, without exception, were the friendliest of any hotel I have ever stayed in - nothing was too much trouble. The room was a decent size and recently decorated and the bathroom appears new. Dogs are welcome in the bar area (where you can also choose to eat) and the breakfasts are fantastic. All in all, my dog and I were made to feel very welcome (and a special thank you to Maisie for the dog treats!)
The house and garden's are lovely.
Garden furniture and outdoor seating area is great just step out of kitchen and have breakfast in the garden.
There is everything you need if staying for a few days or longer.
A beautiful home from home.
The location is perfect, about a 20-25 minute walk into town centre/harbour area. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby, Hutton Soo, Helmingham Hall gardens, Woodbridge. Will definitely be staying here again next time visiting Ipswich.
This is a rather run-down hotel being kept afloat by a really dedicated and helpful staff team, who did everything they could to help in the face of faulty infrastructure. The location would have been good for us had the A14 not been in the process of being re-built (not the hotel's fault, but a real inconvenience).
The room was as advertised, room was clean and bed was comfortable. It is well located in the Center of Ipswich within walking distance of all the downtown. transit bus main station is just around the corner and buses are frequent and easy to get to and from the train station.
The bar team are fantastic very nice people by for the best social area out of all of the hotels in Ipswich I’ve stay in them all but my first time here I should have stayed here first I would never have used the other. Brilliant hotel hats off to the owner
Hotel is well placed for for an evening event we attended in Ipswich. It has a great look and feel and our room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The staff of reception dealt very well with a noise issue we had encountered.
Room was clean and comfortable. Parking was busy upon arrival because of Ipswich home game but spaces were coned off for hotel use. Later in the evening parking was plentiful. Enjoyed the carvery meal.
Great location, right in the town centre but hidden away.
Nice clean and modern style to the apartment.
And as an added bonus a super coffee machine and included pods of a variety of tastes.
The hotel was clean and lovely.
My daughter and her friends had a great time celebrating her 18th birthday in Ipswich. And being able to stay in a nice, near by hotel. Thank you
This was great value for the money. The hotel was clean and the room was very quiet and comfortable. They had a nice restaurant and a breakfast buffet in the morning.
