Proud owners who look after their property with great dedication and thought. Attention to detail and to the needs of guests. The facilities exeded my expecttions. Pity I didn't take my swiming costume to use the sauna and hot tub, information not mentioned or not highlighted enough on the wesite.

Wow! is what best describes Lewis & James’s place.
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay with perfect hosts then this is the place for you.
Beautiful decor all through the house and bedrooms. All the bathroom products are sustainable products down to ‘who gives a crap’ toilet rolls. I’d forgotten my shampoo but noticed the little slab of Devon soap that said you could wash your hair with it and I thought no way only to eat my words as it was amazing and left my hair so soft.
Then breakfast the next day and I can honestly say it was the best breakfast I’ve ever had anywhere, Lewis brought fresh fruit out then showed us all the other stuff like overnight oats, croissants, cereal, yogurts, jams , fresh orange juice and this was before our full English with quality bacon & sausages and beautiful homemade bread toasted.
I would definitely recommend this place if you like quality all round.
Thanks again Marie & Alan

Ilfracombe is a lovely place to visit, however please be aware how hilly it is. Walking down to harbour is easy but the return journey can be a bit of a slog.
Had gluten free fish and chips from Lynbay fish and chip shop.
Gluten free cream tea from St James tea garden.
Wasn't overly impressed with the beach as it mainly slate pebbles, but Woolacombe is not far away with golden sands.

Many part of this town including its HIGH STREET are looking terribly run down and rough. So too some pubs ...
I'm sure it will perk up in higher season but money needs to be spent on its appearance .
The streets felt as safe as most places in Britain and some Bistros and cafes were delightful. Roads are narrow and some extremely vertiginous . Parking can be an issue in high season I guess.

Ilfracombe is worth a visit and is probably better in the summer than when we visited. We preferred Woolacombe and Puttsborough beach is great for surfing. We walked around Baggy Point and saw some amazing views. Well worth a visit.

There were some really lovely parts of Ilfracombe and some not so nice , like most towns . Most of the architecture is stunning with old and new together but some new don't fit in. The scenery on the coast is amazing with lots of craggy coves and you can walk along the South West Coast Path . There is a small harbour where a stunning Damien Hirst statue is of Verity ,Statue of Justice if I remember correctly Parts of Ilfracombe are quite steep but there are slopes and some roads on the flat. We ate Sunday lunch at the Thatched Inn , had Breakfast at the Lime Kiln Cafe down by a cove . We loved it.

Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural.
Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural. The town however was a little disappointing in terms of felt a bit run down and lacking in investment in some areas. Worth a visit altho not too long as I think more useful to use as a base to travel than a holiday in as wasn’t enough to offer.

As we were attending a wedding it was a good location for us but probably not the right time of year for shopping etc as most of the shops were empty or closed down. I'm sure its much better in the summer!
Palm Court is a nice friendly family run hotel. The room was pleasant and a good size. It was clean and comfortable. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. It felt COVID safe. We had our own dedicated table for breakfast and there was a great choice of cooked breakfasts, all cooked to order. Palm Court is ideally situated for access to all the tourist areas in Ilfracombe. There is enough parking for all patrons. The only downside was my car was target practice for the gulls! However you expect this in all seaside towns. Would stay again.
Great location, you can walk down the hill into Ilfracombe easily or hop on the bus with a stop right outside. Tesco just up the hill for provisions, and easy access to roads all around North Devon.
Staff are very friendly. Accommodation is basic but comfortable with everything you could need. We didn’t use the on site facilities much but noted an indoor pool and clubhouse which looked fun for families.
Makes a great base for exploring North Devon and also for some evenings in Ilfracombe which is fun.
From the moment we arrived till the moment we left both Nicki and Johnah really made our stay special. From going above and beyond with Breakfast due to our dietary requirements to helping us with parking and we’re just always on hand to help.
We will definitely be returning to Ilfracombe and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
We had the top floor room with views of the gorgeous town, the room was beautiful decorated and immaculate.
Our room had a sea view which was lovely and the room was a large size.
Due to coronavirus the rooms weren't serviced every day, but we were told to ask if we ever needed anything, but we managed just fine.
Breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day. The staff were very friendly too.
The hotel is a short walk to the harbour, seafront, shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here
The location is excellent, with stunning views of the harbour from 1 bedroom and direct views of the church in the other. It is very central to everything you want to visit in Ilfracombe.
The main lounge was nicely decorated and enjoyable enough for a conversation in the evening, but rather small for dining.
There were some lovely lamps in all rooms.
The host was lovely and communicative.
The fact ChamberCombe was so close to Hele & Ilfracombe. They were in easy walking distance.
The location was very quiet & the Hayloft apartment was detached so we were not having to keep that quiet like we would in a hotel or guest house. Overall it was a very relaxing, enjoyable, restful time which we were both looking for. We would definitely book this apartment again.
Hosts were very organised and helpful, ensuring check in was seamless through a message beforehand detailing self check in information, as well as providing an online information guide about the area. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view overlooking Ilfracombe. A short drive into town, or a walk downhill (the walk back is all uphill).
Good location with parking. Few minutes walk to town and harbour. Matt and Amanda are excellent hosts, very friendly with loads of local knowledge about best places to visit, eat etc.
The bedroom beautifully decorated and clean. Bed very comfy. Bathroom spotless. Good shower with plenty of hot water.
Excellent choice for breakfast.
Good WiFi connection.
We attend a wedding at The Tunnel Beaches, This Hotel/BB is less than one minute from the main gate. The staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great with a large selection to choose from. The room was a good size for a family room with all the usual items. Its the perfect location to stop at
Warm welcome. Excellent suite with luxury bedding/ furniture/ toiletries. Exceptional choice for breakfast for every taste/ appetite. Fabulously grand building adapted well for a boutique hotel feel. Plenty of parking on site. Located just out of town, perfect to explore the area.
Friendly host, welcoming all the way through our stay. Was able to get restaurants and local advice. Very clean B&B, great size room, we had a family room. Breakfast and the choice was lovely and generous.
Great location of North Devon with Ilfracombe just down the road.
Location excellent and quiet room. Loved the room as bed extremely comfortable and shower had plenty of hot water. The room smelt fresh and bedding clean. Hotel reception staff were very very friendly and helpful, thank you for a lovely relaxing stay. We will return.
charming hotel within walking distance of the delightful port of Ilfracombe. Friendly and helpful staff, they served us dinner even though we had not booked (and in the area this is honestly challenging)
Its clean, close to everything you need to see in ilfracombe. Close to bus stop. The staff is very approachable through text or call. Theres a nice common space and kitchen. The room is clean as well.
Location was fine - a great walk down into Ilfracombe harbour - quite steep on the way back up. Hotel was brilliant. Proprietors were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was top class - thank you
