We understand this type of accommodation is the way forward but it could do with a little human touch not sure how as these types of place seem to lack outside attention to the property as the frontages are not very inviting

The room was exceptionally well appointed. Lovely bathroom with an excellent shower. Evening Meal was very good at a Reasonable Price. Breakfast was included in the price. Definately a place for a return visit.

We loved EVERYTHING about this stay. It had everything we needed. The lodge was clean and modern with log cabin features. The location is beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking. Paul the owner was lovely. They went the extra mile by having hot tub & wine ready on arrival.

Had a walk round the town but needed more time to walk along the river path and visit the museum. There was so much history but staying one night was not enough. Therefore I am planning another trip in December .

Nothing much really interesting to do or see there.
Nothing much really interesting to do or see there. People seem to really dislike English people. Booked in 2 hotels. B&B's (because one accepted pets), one was not at all what we expected and the other one (the Newcastle arms) was nicer, with food and quite nice too however 3 weeks after I've got a Fine for using their carpark (even though it states car park at the rear!!) the fine was for £100, I dispute it and shown my bill to the hotel but even then they insisted I had to pay a reduced price fine!!

Coldstream is a small town with a major road running through the middle. Our original thought was that it would be a good staging post for visiting the Borders. In the event, our experience at the Newcastle Arms indicated that Kelso, Jedburgh or Melrose would provide an infinitely superior base in the Borders. We had stayed in Norham a year earlier and this is possibly our outstanding preference as a base.

The town itself offers some lovely river walks and park areas, and is a good base for further places of interest. eg Alnwick Castle, Floors Castle Kelso, Holy Island etc. Diverse choice of eating places, tried the Indian and Besom, both just OK. Chippy seemed popular! Friendly people and nice size of town for strolling.

I was there to work so didn’t get to sight-see but Coldstream is a quite place set on the banks of the river Tweed, with lots of history and many places nearby.
The people are really friendly and helpful.
It is about 15 minutes from the Jim Clarke museum for the racing fans amongst us half hour drive from Berwick-upon-Tweed, an hour or so from Edinburgh and very near Alnwick Castle (For the Harry Potter fans among us) and Holy Island/ Lindesfarne.
The hosts were excellent, so friendly and welcoming. They have only just taken over the hotel and did explain that they were waiting for work to be carried out. We have made allowances for that. The location was lovely so historic and it was gala week, so we were treat to some parades which made our holiday special. Just 14 miles from Berick on Tweed so very easy to visit and we'll worth the visit.
Nothing not to like really - the owner was lovely and very helpful, the building itself is a beautiful house. The room is self contained with fridge and microwave, made a change not to have to be at breakfast for a certain time! The location is central in the town of Coldstream so no problems there either.
The breakfast was delicious, three with meat, one veggie. Sylvia was so friendly, such an asset to the hotel. Every hotel should have a Sylvia. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms light and airy and the prices for the drinks and the evening meals were very competitive.
The property is well located with Coldstream in a quiet and private situation and having lovely views southwards . The outside terrace off the Living Room is a distinct advantage, especially if the weather is nice (as it was during our stay).
Great location, right next to CoOp for example, and Coldstream is a great base for touring the Borders. House was well equipped and comfortable. There are lovely walks locally so you don't always need the car either.
Central location, Coldstream has a some nice pubs and lots of lovely walks. We had an issue with the cooker and the hosts had it replaced the same day. Bedrooms nice and clean had been well aired before our arrival.
Hotel on top of pub, so could be a bit noisy, but couple of drinks it doesn’t bother you. Room was lovely own shower, TV and bedroom furniture. Breakfast you had choice of full English or boxed cereals.
The location was perfect, a lovely peaceful area in Coldstream, and the holiday cabins are clean and looked very new. The staff are friendly and very helpful.
