Quietly situated in one of Cirencester’s oldest streets, this delightful, privately owned hotel and restaurant is just 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre.

The Abbey and the Abbey Gardens are stunning.
The market place was interesting and had a good variety of stalls

Cirencester has almost everything a visitor would want from a market town including a Saturday food and produce outside market and a arts and crafts indoor market. This is alongside many high street chain shops as well as small independent shops. There are many restaurants, wine bars and pubs as well to choose from covering all sorts if tastes and preferences.

There is an interesting mix of shops, arts arts and crafts, parkland, cafes and historical sites. The church is beautiful inside and is worth a revisit to take it all in. The historical buildings from different centuries side by side give it character and is a surprise each time you walk through an alley or turn a corner.
The food sold on the farmers market is a good quality and mix and the craft market is also high quality.
We will be revisitng.

The market square, overlooked by St John's church - 'the cathedral of the Cotswolds' is very beautiful. The church is staggering - very large and ornate - an architectural jewel. Parking in town was easy enough (April, Easter holidays).
The market outside the church (we were there on a Friday morning) was small but all of the stalls were interesting, with very high-quality fish, vegetables and bakery.
We ate well at our hotel, the Stratton House just out of town on the Gloucester Road.

We loved the small independent shops in the high street and the various arcades off the streets.
There was a great selection of places the eat or tea/coffee shops.
The town had an outdoor market on at least Fridays and the Corn Hall (indoor market hall and tearoom) also had an antique market at the time of our visit.
The Parish Church (also has a model of the abbey) and Abbey grounds (abbey was demolished on order by Henry VIII but the footprint and artist impression remain at the site) were also lovely but unfortunately we didn't get round to checking out Cirencester Park or the Roman Amphitheatre (just the earth mounds left).
We we staying within 10 minutes walk but the town had plenty of reasonably priced car parks which became free after 6 pm.
While the Parks offer activities for Children and if you love your Roman History the museum is a must, the town is nore aimed at couples and more mature adults.
Nice old hotel with good food and excellent service/staff. I stayed on my last night of a work trip as my colleague had to leave early, we had previously been staying in a nearby hotel that offered apartments. The Fleece was better in all respects and much cheaper. Breakfast at the Fleece was comparably very good, excellently cooked with much better service (although the quality of the ingredients didn’t seem quite as good as the nearby larger hotel). Really comfy bed and very quiet room (even on the front of the hotel).
A very friendly welcome from our hosts Anne and David who couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. Our room had the benefit of it's own entrance away from the Pub. Whilst quite small it was very nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the facilities all that you would expect. We had an excellent freshly cooked breakfast on the second morning. The Inn is situated just a short walk from the town centre which is a perfect place to sample the Cotswold experience. All in all a lovely place to stay. Thank You.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, what a great team.
After we checked in we enjoyed dinner in the pub and had had an amazing Beef Wellington. If this is your favourite, you will not be disappointed.
The following day it was a brief walk to the spa hotel for a delightful breakfast in the dining area over looking the gardens. The menu offered a wide selection of breakfast choices, we was spoilt for choice.
A lovely place to stay.
Lovely cozy hotel with details like wellington boots to borrow, fresh milk to your room in the morning and the radio on when you arrive with some great jazz music. The restaurant in the pub was absolutely delicious for dinner and really high quality food. Comfortable bed and great location to explore a small village and beautiful countryside. Loved that it wasn´t in a touristy town but was close to Cirencester.
We had our dog with us and we were restricted from eating a number of the hotels venues. We did have breakfast but had to sit in the lounge nearest the entrance. The breakfast room was self service and seemed understaffed there were tea and coffee machines and buffet style food counters , no staff spoke as they were all rushed off there feet
The hotel is absolutely lovely, possibly one of the nicest I have ever stayed at. Everything is beautifully designed and even though it is new, it fits in perfectly with the Cotswolds surroundings. Very dog friendly as well with little treats in the room and vegan friendly as well.
Lovely outside area with a path to walk the dogs.
Hotel was decorated to a high standard and was in a a very central location in Cirencester, Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were delicious and the communal areas were comfortable and cosy.
Room was finished to a very good standard and had all the amenities required for a comfortable stay.
The location is perfect & the look of it is just beautiful. I felt very comfortable. This was my second stay here at the hotel. Both visits very different and stayed in a complete different room/area to the park. Loved both stays very much and have recommended to friends to stay here too.
Imposing Victorian building with bold colours and eclectic furnishing. Clearly improved to a high standard with many individual furnishings.
Close to town centre and parking very adjacent to hotel and cheap.
Breakfast and evening meals very good and staff friendly.
Great overnight stay at the historic Corinium Hotel Restaurant full of English charm centre of Cirencester convenient short walk to shops sights the double room was very clean tidy excellent breakfast poached egg royal with salmon staff were great
Loved our stay. Property is good size and there was a plenty of room for all of us. Kids and adults enjoyed the stay. Definitely better than hotel rooms. I’m really glad we chose Auroras Dream Losge. Property was and clean and excellent location.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Kings Head Hotel. Excellent room and the staff all very friendly. Dinner was great in the Brasserie, apparently one of the best steaks my father had consumed and he's a chef! We will be back.
Room was very well furnished and comfortable. Lovely view across the lake. I really enjoyed my dinner. The harissa chicken was super tasty. The hotel served a very good breakfast in a very comfortable dining room.
Eliot Arms is a beautifully remodeled and maintained boutique hotel. The bar, restaurant and patio are wonderful spaces to enjoy delicious food & beverages. The people are friendly and helpful. It’s delightful!
Super cosy, in a great location only 10 mins drive to the town centre. Bridget and Neil are amazing. They made our stay comfortable. really great breakfast! would not hesitate to stay again
