Check in was welcoming, room was spacious, clean & comfortable. Just what we needed after a long day. Dinner was delicious. Homemade lasagne was delicious & liked that the salad was separate. All the staff were polite & helpful. Breakfast was a choice of cooked full English, Arbroath Smokie or Cold ham with cereals, tea/coffee & juices. Cooked breakfast was fantastic & served by a lovely waitress.

Brilliant location for Carnoustie and golf course. Friendly and helpful staff in bar, restaurant and reception. Highly recommend the Spa after a golf round as the treatment was great and welcomed after a round. Food in restaurant for dinner was also great.

Was a bit dubious as I walked through the entrance, but once in my room I was happy. The room was a really good size, very clean and the bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated. The shower was great, easy to use and plenty of room to move around. There were complimentary toiletries, and a large bottle of corked water, which was great. As the hotel is part of the pub I was afraid that it might be really noisy, but honestly it was really quiet, there was a football match on the Saturday and even though you could hear the laughing and cheering from the revellers, it was no bother at all.

If you want a quiet break or a base for travelling in Angus / Fyfe its great. Carnoustie itself only has about 4 good places to eat. The High street shops are still holding on - but typically only open from 10-4. Public transport links are not great but if you have a car there's plenty of parking (and EV charging usually available).McKinnon - 6.0Scored 6.0

The beach area, golf course and immediate surroundings were impressive, good restaurants located in those areas. The town Main Street was very disappointing, this comment being based on previous descriptions of the town. The staff as always were attentive, helpful and friendly without being obtrusive. The food was as good as it always is. Cooked to perfection and presented well. There are plenty things to do. Lots of walks in either direction from the hotel. A walk along the High Street looking at some independent shops. You can also take the train to Dundee, only 12 minutes, and see many cultural experiences. Or, just shop. Alternatively you can go North to Aberdeen and enjoy a day out there.

Staff from check in to check out were superb. Check in desk, bar staff, waiting staff and spa staff all very friendly and helpful. For anyone who doesn't know the hotel, it is ideal for Championship golf, for walking on the beach and surrounding area and for relaxation by the sea. Hotel food is great but there are a few restaurants in Carnoustie or if you want the city, Dundee is 10 miles away, and full of restaurants..MelvilleUnited Kingdom

Choice was excellent, portions were huge. Rooms were clean and modern. Bedding was crisp white cotton, beds were comfortable. Tea and coffee were provided free of charge. There was a mini bar but we preferred the hotel bar. Every member of staff we dealt with were really friendly and could not have done more to make us welcome. We really enjoyed our visit and would stay again if we came back to Carnoustie.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and made us and our dog welcome. The room was a good size as was the bathroom very comfortable and clean. As we had our dog staff asked if we would like to have breakfast in the room which was a great idea it arrived at 7:45 as requested. My single room was clean and comfortable, bed comfy and a hot shower. All crockery etc was cling wrapped for Covid safety. My vegetarian breakfast in the morning was amazing, beautifully cooked and so much of it. The staff were nice and Carole in particular was helpful with tourist information as well as being the excellent chef !
