We stayed at the Three Horseshoes over New Year. It is in a perfect location away from the crowds of Burford, set in beautiful countryside. The pub and rooms had just been refurbished. The owner was absolutely wonderful, and went out of her way to welcome my daughter and I. The property is beyond charming, and is in walking distance to High Street in Burford with its many shops and restaurants/pubs. Our room was well-appointed with beautiful views and the most comfortable bed we slept in while in England. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and as if it couldn't get any better, the owner's adorable dogs stole our hearts.

Burford is a medium sized Cotswolds town - pretty, lots of places to eat and drink, local independent shops and a good place as a base to explore the wider Cotswolds area. Burford Golf Club is very close, as is the Cotswolds Wildlife Park. Both recommended.

Burford is a great place to visit.

Burford is a great place to visit. The shops are individual and interesting and it is one of the best places for pubs with open fires in winter. It is a very attractive place with many interesting buildings. A short distance away is a wonderful garden centre. We ate one night at the Highway Inn where we were staying and the next night at the Lamb. Good meals in both.

Great location just off the High Street. One of the biggest benefits was being allowed an early check in time which meant we could explore Burford. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. We had a great evening meal and the food was delicious. The soufflé special was divine. Breakfast was even better, with a great selection on your table and the full English was really tasty and well presented. With such a selection of pubs / hotels then for a short stay I can highly recommend staying at The Angel.

We stayed in this hotel after a fishing trip to avoid a late night trip home. The location is great on Burford High Street so you can experience the local pubs and the locals, which is interesting. Check-in was dead easy and the room absolutely perfect. Very clean and comfortable twin room with plenty of space and a lot of character for a great price. The breakfast was absolutely excellent, full English breakfast served up hot and quickly with tea and coffee.

It's a beautiful building and the warm atmosphere and decor inside the hotel is perfect. The roaring fire places were a joy on the coldest week so far this winter. The welcome at check-in was equally warm and friendly and the staff were excellent throughout my stay. I had an evening meal and breakfast and the food was delicious. With the beautiful village of Burford on the doorstep it really couldn't get much better, I only wish I'd been staying there longer.

The location is excellent. Just note however, as a result of being on the Main Street, there is no dedicated parking and as this is the ‘Highway to the Cotswolds’ can be quite noisy at rush hour. A charming building obviously refurbished some years ago, retaining many original features. The quality of the food is locally sourced and excellent quality, and the hotel staff are absolutely lovely as were all those we met in pubs, shops and restaurants in Burford.

Exceptionally friendly staff who went out of their way to make your stay comfortable. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast really was lovely. The breakfast area was very comfortable and relaxing. The rooms were adequate as you do not spend a lot of time in them. My husband found the bed comfortable but I prefer a firmer mattress. Bathroom was quite spacious, shower was good and there were plenty toiletries for you to use.

Stayed with my husband and 2 dogs and were given what seemed like the whole top floor! A room with bathroom on private a-joining corridor. Hotel is on the high street of Burford so easy access for shops and restaurants. Restaurant dinner and breakfast was excellent with very good vegetarian options. Staff were very friendly and even gave our dogs a bag of treats each during our stay! We wish we could have stayed longer!

This property was everything we hoped it would be. Quiet, comfortable, relaxing, and a short walk into Burford. Very clean, comfortable, and easy to find. Fire was wonderful, lots of little touches like fresh milk and bread on arrival went above and beyond. Towels were fluffy, bedding perfect. I'm a light sleeper, so really appreciated the black-out curtains and silence at night.

The Highway Inn in Burford was a pleasant surprise. We booked as a stop-off after a trip to the Lake District to get closer to London. The very small room was charming with beams and a tiny bathroom. The historic hotel has been renovated in very good style, preserving the old charm. Nice staff. Excellent breakfast with many choices!
