Castle worth a visit.

Comfy beds was only plus, room cross between caller and prison cell Windows ceiling height Not as clean as it should have been , especially in today's Covid times, cobwebs are clue to room not being properly, breakfast tepid first morning, but much better second morning definitely, not as high end as advertised, parking poor,

I love Berkhamsted.
I love Berkhamsted. Went with my friends couple of years ago and we shopped, had lunch and went to the Rex cinema which is great. Went with my husband a couple of weeks ago and did shopping, dinner and Rex cinema. The hotel location is great. We managed to get in the hotel car park which is off the Waitrose car park. Not sure of the parking costs if hotel car park was full. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and some lovely shops, my favourite being The Forge Boutique. The place isn't massive but would recommend for a one night stay and trip to the Rex.

Lovely individual shops to browse, good choice of restaurants and eateries, in addition to the branch of Waitrose and M&s food hall. The town had a welcoming feel, and the appearance of some Christmas decorations although a little early did enhance the town. Lovely Saturday market too.

A compact town with many interesting and varied shops.
A compact town with many interesting and varied shops. There were also plenty of options for coffee or alcohol, which was also important! A walk along the canal is always amazing, with plenty of wildlife.

I came to visit family who live in Berkhamsted and wanted to be central. It’s a lovely little market town with lots of interesting shops that are within walking distance as well as lots of coffee shops to stop in.
We ate in the hotel one evening and the food was fresh and well prepared with very attentive ,friendly staff.
I loved the charity shops( we don’t have them in SA) also the antique shops and restaurant
We also ate in an Italian restaurant “Ask” I think was the name and had a great meal . Very child friendly and authentic
Breakfast was amazing and overall all members of staff were very nice. The restaurant side of the property is great.
Overall I would go back to the restaurant but I would not stay in the hotel.
This is a slightly tired but pleasant hotel but without any food service. That said, there are plenty of places nearby but not so good for the solo traveler.
Lovely, individual room, very comfy bed, not too small, bathroom with huge shower. The place is hard to find from the High Street, but it's super quiet!
