Fairly basic amenities but everything you need honestly. Staff was really nice. If you want to see war sites you can do 4 hour walk to them and back pretty easily.

The town of Verdun itself might be worth a visit, albeit a short one. The town itself might not be as impressive as you may expect, however it still feels like a relaxing small town in which you can have a good time. The main reason why people may visit is going to be the battlefield of the battle of Verdun during the First World War. If you are interested in this, there is no place that will give you an experience quite like this. In my opinion, everyone with an interest in history should visit Verdun, as it is a place which was so toughly fought over, yet the experience there really represents the nature of WWI, that being a war in which no one was the "bad guy" and everyone was just fighting for their country. The museums and memorials in Verdun most definitely do this justice, and honor the French and German soldiers exactly alike, even though they were enemies. I believe that the museums on the battlefield represent the story of the battle of Verdun as the soliders would want it to be, which in my opinion is the greatest honor a museum/historical site could carry.
Final note: If you're interested in history, visit Verdun. You will not regret it.

I liked the ability to walk a relatively short distances in Verdun, to a wide variety of Cafes and restaurants, and monuments. I liked the variety of restaurants near or along the water front. Also, by car, it is a short drive to major Verdun museums and battle grounds and American cemeteries in the area. So munch to see and comprehend.i would have loved staying longer, but only had a two weeks to see other destinations as well. Also, It will be best rent a car at the Charles De Gaulle airport.

We can't comment on Verdun as we only stayed one night at the beginning of our holiday. From afar it looked interesting but the area where the hotel is situated doesn't look prosperous and quite frankly safe. I am sure there other parts which we didn't have time and were too tired to explore.

Heart of it by the river was very warm and intriguing, apparently oriented towards the people who live there and like to meet at the sidewalk cafes to talk and read newspapers; not a prosperous town on a well-travelled circuit. Rather sleepy in places, with awkward-hanging window shutters and walls that haven't been painted in many years. The old military fortifications are extraordinary to see looming over it all. We were only passing through on our way to somewhere else, so impressions were brief.

Verdun makes you realize the senselessness and sadness of war. The Memorial de Verdun and its museum is impressive. The ossuary de Douaumont makes one humble.
The city is dominated by the Citadel, which you can visit.
Verdun is a must see to get a better understanding of past en present day Europe.
To reflect stroll along the border of the river Meuse and enjoy one of the many terraces.

We stopped here on the way back from a bike tour just to look over some first world war memorials and Verdun is the perfect place to stay. we were limited for time so will be returning when we have more time as there is so much to see and discover and learn from in a small area. The town was quiet but full of food and drink places along side the river which was perfect for a relaxed meal and a few drinks.

Staying here was a lovely experience because of the warm welcome of our hosts, who were charming and helpful, the superb location right in the historic heart of beautiful Verdun, and the relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Good quality breakfast with delicious croissants and artisanal bread, served with local jams. The hotel is a minute's walk to the river, with its cafes, the wonderful cathedral, and a few paces from an excellent restaurant serving fantastic traditional home cooking at a modest price. I would definitely return.
Driving with a young family from Calais en route further south, the B&B Hotel was well located for us to stop for an overnighter before continuing. Its a budget hotel, so don't expect mad luxury, but it was fine. It was clean, beds were comfy our rooms had air conditioning (big bonus given it was 30+ degrees outside) and the staff nothing but helpful & patient while we conversed via my very average French skills.
We stayed here on our way from Germany to Calais as it was about halfway to the Eurotunnel. Having free parking (at the weekend!) nearby was really convenient. The hotel is really close to the town centre the river as well as nice restaurants and bars. Many historic sites also very nearby...
The hotel is situated about 10mins walk from the city centre. My room was of adequate size with a comfortable bed and the shower was clean and worked fine. An added bonus was an attached garage providing secure parking for my motorcycle.
This place is a nice option to stay for a few nights while visiting Verdun. It's located not far away from the city in a quiet neighborhood. The owner is very welcoming! The breakfast was fulfilling and the rest we packed with us.
The appartment was quite good and had everything you might need for a short stay.
Additionally, it’s ideally situated for the centre of Verdun.
Furthermore, there was free parking within easy walking distance of the property.
The breakfast was generous in its servings, and provided a wide variety of choices of food and drink. Local products were served and enhanced the feeling that we were eating just like people of Verdun.
The rooms were comfortable and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and homemade jam was excellent. Would highly recommend if you need a place to stay in Verdun!
Excellent Hotel directly on the river front with good secure parking (15 euro).
Beautiful location. Great room. Huge bed. Brilliant friendly staff. We’d love to come back.
The owners are very nice and discrete.
There is a fridge in the room and a microwave in the hall.
It is super quiet and 2 minutes from the center.
Bed is very confortable.
