The general areas (reception, breakfast room, stairwell) were always clean and seemed newly renovated. The location is top - everything is in walking distance. The personal was very nice and could speak English - there was a problem with our booking, but they fixed it right away. The room was a good size. Breakfast was ok (would have liked hardboiled eggs and some sort of vegetable like cucumber, tomatoes, etc... though). The hotel has a locked door at all times and you need a code to get in.
This motel benefits from modern soundproof rooms only 5 minutes’ drive from the A25 motorway. Le Merceny Motel is part of a petrol station and features free parking.

What a surprising good hotel this is for the price. The room was big and comfortable with all the amenities of a big chain. Staff were really helpful , showing us how to access doors and the room

The WW2 museums are fantastic, and are highly recommended.
The WW2 museums are fantastic, and are highly recommended. The 101st Airborne Museum, which is a 2 minute walk from the main square (General Mc Auliffe square), is extremely interesting. The life-size mannequins are just too real though!. The 101st Barracks is about a 45 minute walk from the centre, and well worth a visit. As is the Mardasson Memorial and Museum, the Bois Jacques Woods, and whilst you're in that area, a visit to the German war cemetery at Recogne should be taken in too. Bastogne is a good base to visit other WW2 museums, such as the one at La Gleize. If time permits the visitor, I would also strongly advise a visit to the small town of Wereth where there is a memorial to the 11 soldiers of the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion, an all-African-American unit, who were massacred during the Battle of the Bulge. Do your research prior to a visit to Bastogne, and plan your activities, you won't be disappointed.

Obviously there's a lot of historic value to Bastogne but this mainly can be found just out of the town itself. 'Downtown' is not really interesting and the WW2 legacy is being commercialised in an almost offensive way - but okay.
The War Museum is quite interesting and the audio guide is very well done. Although the entrance fee of 22 Euros per person is really steep!!

A busy town with some excellent restaurants and bars to frequent once you have visited the many War Memorial sites. I would particularly recommend the 101st Airborne Museum.
Supermarkets close at 1930hrs. So don't get caught out like we did. However, there is a 24hr garage nearby called shop and go where we were able to get some supplies after the shops had closed.

A fabulous little town full of history.
A fabulous little town full of history. We met so.many lovely friendly people including an American war veteren in bar nuts. What an honour and a privilege. Also had a few good meals, burgers in nuts were huge and very tasty. Food in Leo's station wagon was exceptional as was the service. We visited ww2 sites..so humbling. The airborne museum was brilliant. Informative and very well set out. The interactive displays are a must. Jaques woods overlooking Foy with the foxholes...wow. Such a humbling place. Walk around perimeter of fence to see the originals overlooking a field facing Foy.

If you're interested in the WWII history of the area, it is a must see. The museums are fantastic (Bastogne War Museum and 101st Airborne Museum). You can enjoy wonderful food, decadent chocolates, and wonderfully warm people during your visit. Several languages are spoken for and travelers that are apprehensive about a language barrier. Absolutely loved this trip!
Location was good, a 10 minute walk to the city center where I met most of my friends who were staying in hotels near the main square. Apartment was quite, despite being on a busy street. Apartment met minimum requirements, especially since I spent very little time there other than sleeping. I was able to park my motorcycle in the alley in front of the door to the apartment, which provided peace-of-mind as to its security. There were several quick-food restaurants and bars in very close proximity to the apartment.
Our room was located in a nearby building, not in the main hotel, but it was absolutely fine - we had a nice view over the main square. The room was warm and clean, bed was comfortable. Bathroom was well-equipped. The buffet breakfast was excellent - very tasty with various choices. The staff members were friendly, check-in and check-out went smoothly. We stayed for 3 nights and we enjoyed our stay, especially breakfasts.
This is a beautiful house in a remote village a few km away from Bastogne. Cows in the fields below the garden. Good facilities for a family to use and plenty of walks around about. For us was handy as we were visiting sites around Bastogne (this house is in the middle of Battle of the Bulge country). Very peaceful place but has all modern conveniences - dishwasher / microwave / BBQ / WiFi / TV. Highly recommended.
Great location in a personable village. Very stylishly decorated, comfortable unit and well-equipped for self-catering, although we didn't cook. Meals were not being served, but there is an absolutely brilliant haute cuisine restaurant a short, pleasant walk up the road. Convenient location for exploring the area while avoiding touristy Bastogne. Highly recommended and would return with pleasure.
The location of the duplex was excellent! The duplex was clean and very spacious for the price paid. Sarah was very accommodating. She reached out on numerous occasions prior to our arrival and during our stay to ensure all was good. Walking distance from 101st Airborne Museum, and other sites. 5 minute drive from the Bastogne WW2 Memorial Museum.
Lovely hotel just off the main square. With private parking for our motorbikes it was ideal. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent. The 101st Battle of the Bulge museum is just around the corner and the main square is 100 yards in the opposite direction. Would certainly return.
Rooms were exceptionally clean, beds were very comfortable. Location was great. Very knowledgeable about historical places in the area that we wanted to visit. What meant the most to us, Marc waiting up for our late arrival. My husband's favorite place we stayed while in Europe.
We loved this apartment. So clean and comfortable. Great location. It was so nice to be able to cook our own breakfast. Nothing like fresh baguettes and croissants from the nearby bakery. The grocery store is also in walking distance for other food needs.
The room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. The staff were very nice and the location was near the sites we wanted to see. Our request to have both rooms near each other were satisfied which was very nice.
Motel above a supermarket and gasstation. no noise at all in the rooms.
Very central location to go into Bastogne!
Rooms and bathroom very large. great breakfast and very nice staff!
A great location in Bastogne. Clean, a nice kitchen, bathroom and balcony. The host was very friendly as well and was ready to answer questions or handle special requests.
Friendly and informative ,Marco and his wife made us feel at home within their home . Santa fe is situated in a small village 5 mins from Bastogne, which was perfect .
