Whorouly was well situated to access many of the tourist areas. There isn't a village or shop there, that we noticed, but there are plenty of shopping places reasonably close by. We love Yackandandah and Beechworth , they both feel old world and have beautiful old buildings. We went to the Star hotel in Yackandandah where my husband had the Two Pot brewers stout, which he thought was pretty good and by all accounts their porter was pretty good too. Myrtleford has a good choice of takeaway food places and we enjoyed a pizza from Roma pizza and pasta. If you like a quiet location then Whoroughly is a good place to stay.
