Location was handy, food choices in Orbost were somewhat limited, and the main character hotel seems to be not leased at the moment, which is a shame. Next time we might bring our own food to cook. Hopefully a new owner / leasee can bring it back to life. Amazing tomato and lemon plants on the Longhorn property were a pleasant feature.

It was a lovely spot - very tranquil, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Our host was welcoming and friendly. The two dogs are gorgeous.
The shack is in excellent condition - not really a shack at all! And is surprisingly large with 2 bedrooms.
We enjoyed having an open fire as well

orbost is a quaint little town for a stop-over. There's not really much to do other than any other small country town: they've got a good IGA and a swimming pool. Marlo and Cape Conran are an easy drive to access the beach.

I didnt have much of an opportunity to see the shops - seems to be a few vintage/second hand stores that i wanted to visit. We ate at Leon's palace as the orbost hotel's chef was ill therefore the restaurant was closed. The food was great. It is a small town with not lots to do, although we wouldve liked to experience it a little more, although we had just been there passing through.

Design of the room was stylish and comfortable.
Design of the room was stylish and comfortable. Shower was great.
Well equipped with cutlery, crockery, Microwave, Fridge and glassware. Great to have coffee machine. Very good bed. Staff were friendly. Top place to stay.
The bed configuration was exactly what we wanted. The property was $75 cheaper than one offering the same bedding configuration in Orbost. Although there were no nearby shops the location was quite convenient- easy approach and departure. The kitchenware was presented in a manner that was reassuring of cleanliness. Bed lighting was good. Adequate additional blankets provided. The hidden highlight was the enticing view from the back window -Bushland. If guests are allowed to wander through it, it would be an asset that should be promoted.
It is an old 1884 country hotel. OnIy has common bathroom but showers good. Room has only one powerpoint and bad placement on side of bed. Access from remote dirt car park via a series of convoluted stairs and passages - not good for older people or with heavy luggage, Also happened to be night beer garden outside window had live modern LOUD music until very late! Food good and cheap. I think a motel is better unless you want that old 'country' experience.

Amazing place, off the main road, opposite the turn off to Orbost, nicely renovated, spacious rooms, and good facilities, Town was only a 3 min drive with great food waiting, I definitely will like to stop by again, 1 day wasnt enough.
Travelled to Orbost for work and stayed in the King ensuite with spa. It was lovely being able to wind down after a long day of driving and working. Staff were delightful and helpful. It was a relaxing and comfortable stay.
What a little gem, interesting decor, well presented, clean and tidy. The staff were great. just off the highway so easy access. Orbost was an interesting little town with rich history.
They were able to take me on as a last minute booking, and the room was comfortable and spacious for the price. Bush views from back window and a quick drive to Orbost.
The corner store exceeded our expectations with everything provided in a clean & well furnished facility.
Will use again when visiting family in Orbost
