An amazing country BNB stay I can’t thank Sandy and Laurie enough for making me feel so welcomed. As soon as I arrived I had sweets waiting for me. My room was a real country feel too it with high ceilings, old style furniture and a massive ensuite bathroom. Breakfast the next day was cooked to better than perfection especially the eggs, tomato and fruit. I really enjoyed it so much. The best feed. It made my time in Gilgandra memorable. Well worth a visit.

There is no real meal options around this town after 18:00.
There is no real meal options around this town after 18:00. Most places are either closed in the main town after this time. Best options for meals eg: Dinner or Breakfast are the main road truck stops service stations who cater for the truck drivers mainly where you can dine in or take away. Menus are plentiful, lots of choices.

Gilgandra is a lovely country town and a great place to visit. A wonderful remembrance park for our fallen soldiers.
The Royal hotel great for dinner.
Unfortunately it was too wet for us to visit some of the places in the area
Sadly the windmills in the park were not as advertised either not finished or being pulled down!!!!

If you are a plant lover then a visit (weekends only) to Orana Cactus World is a must. There is also an excellent pub, The Royal, that is worth visiting. In their beer garden is a grapevine that was planted way back in the 1890s. It still bears fruit.

A small town, not too many shops. Good for a short stay.
A small town, not too many shops. Good for a short stay. Food places few and far between. There is a Chinese buffet in main street on Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm. Fairly good price. All you can eat. Just over $15 adults. Discovered by accident when looking to order food.
There is also a hotel that sells takeaway food like pizza at night. The bowls club (now sporties) also has Chinese food after 5pm most days.
Hot food is hard to come by if coming through Gilgandra after 2pm and wanting quick eat before travelling on. As we were on way back from Qld. Servo pie is the best you will get.

I stayed one night on an emergency trip from Canberra tp Bingara. It was a convenient stop over and met my needs. I did not explore the area, though I have been before and think it is an interesting part of the country. Thank you

The windmill walk along the river was lovely, the Chinese restaurant at the bowling club was a pleasant surprise all the rose gardens in town were gorgeous and the heritage features of the town were charming .
It was the perfect half way stop off for our drive between the Sunshine Coast and Melbourne. The owners were welcoming and provided a great service; and the room was extremely clean. We were travelling with a dog and a cat and they were also welcome. It was the perfect spot for very tired travelers to get a good nights sleep before continuing on their journey the next day. I would not hesitate to recommend the Bungalow Motel to others and stay there again if travelling.

We arrived after going through flooded & damaged roads in western NSW - leaving Broken Hill it was a longer drive of about 9 hours (being careful due to the roads, floods & dog breaks) the manager was helpful and friendly, the hotel was very clean and comfortable as well pet friendly - we were put at the end of the row which was very suitable for our Kelpie who is a bit reactive - it was one of the best little roadside motels we have stayed in 🙏
Our enjoyment of our stay at Chinnock B&B had everything to do with our hosts. Sandy was the most welcoming and generous host we have encountered. The building has an interesting history but is in good condition and well equipped.
Gilgandra itself was a surprise, with a nice river walk and a number of eating options.
The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful. He answered all of our questions and nothing thing was too much trouble. He was always available should we need any assistance with anything. He did an outstanding job for someone is very new to the business.
Great location on the north side of Gilgandra. Easy to find and easy to drive off in the morning. Very good parking facilities. The rooms are a good size and the plates, cutlery and microwave were great for a light evening meal. Excellent value for money.
Friendly helpful attitude of staff, in a quite location. Motel is close to main street and all Gilgandra has to offer. Breakfast was excellent. Grounds are children friendly with room to play safely. Park opposite also.
Just a little of the highway so didn’t notice the trucks as much ,surprised at how cheap it was ,very clean inside the unit ,very welcoming in the office on arrival will definitely stay here again.
Lovely little motel. Location was close to town and the highway and even though it was close to the highway the fact it was set back meant it was nice and quiet. Comfortable bed. Very clean.
Overall cleanliness was very good. My wife and I had a takeaway chinese meal from Lawn Bowls Club located across
road at rear of motel.. The Satay Prawn dish was delicious.
Continental breakfast is great for travellers leaving early. Cleanliness was beyond what I was expecting for a pet friendly hotel along the highway. Could not fault it.
Room was clean and tidy and staff were very friendly. I have stayed here before for personal reasons and I would recommend this hotel to others staying in the area.
Beautiful grounds and clean good sized room. Undercover car parking and windscreen cleaning brush.
Recommended the Railway hotel for 🍽 which was excellent
