Great little mining town.
Great little mining town. Plenty of takeaway places and a couple of pubs but very few, if any, other restaurants. Pubs have food as do the motels.
All services are available here, fuel, tyres, repairs.
There are a couple of good motels.
There are also a couple of nice parks with public toilets.
The BICC (Blackwater International Coal Centre) is well worth a visit.
They have a tourist shop, very good coal museum and excellent coffee shop. Only open on week days.
They can arrange a visit to a coal mine but ensure you inquire a week or so ahead because tours may not be available every day.
It is well worth a visit to an mine.
the place does not provide food, so they directed you to next door to the petrol station. Because I know Blackwater after I know where to go for food, including breakfast (bakery opens at 4 am, has a nice breakfast. Also the Blackwater Hotel and Motel, country club etc are efficient and provide nice variety of food and is walking distance from the hotel. However they also could have offered eg bank info, pizza hut, subway, coal centre etc meetings and catch up's for work purposes.
Booked cabin accommodation and on arrival they had lost my booking and booked cabins to roadworkers
Managed to finally get hotel room at same price. Staff member came into office and was told to speak in front of me and said another couple booked and paid but room not available as cleaning had not been done due to public holiday. Couple had to drive to next town to find accommodation and wanted refund.
Food overcooked. Fish not edible in restaurant but did get refund
Nathan, the manager of the property, is courteous, friendly, and always helpful. I recommend anyone travelling to blackwater to stay at the Blackrock.Inn.. Clean rooms, nice and quiet. Spacious rooms, with all the facilities needed.
Great location, nice room with a comfortable bed. Affordable but I’d pay more for a decent breakfast. I’d be happy to stay again if I had too come back to Blackwater.
We did not have breakfast at the motel but the location was amazing and the room was super comfy! Will definitely recommend to anyone who is travelling to Blackwater!
Nice place for a night through Blackwater. Room is big and well-equipped, parking is easy. The included breakfast was great and dinner options were delicious.
