The village of Rowen is just 1 mile away and the property offers free parking. Beautiful country house and the room we stayed in was large and very comfortable. Situated on the outskirts of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park, Maenan Abbey Hotel stands on the site of an original thirteenth-century Cistercian monastery.
Built as a gentleman's residence in 1850, the property features a magnificent galleried Victorian staircase and blazing winter log fire. Whilst maintaining its historic traditions, Maenan Abbey offers all modern hotel facilities. All 14 bedrooms are en suite and are decorated in a style sympathetic to the period of the building.
Staff were absolutely fantastic and more than accommodating. Food was delicious. Rooms were extremely comfortable with each one a little different. Would highly recommend

Beautiful quiet location, in the countryside but a small walk from the beach.
Everything. The location was good, it was quiet and peaceful, close enough to interesting places to explore. Although small, it was very comfortable, and we loved all the extra little touches - the fridge stocked with milk, juice, several jams, and nut butter, the freshly baked bread and other little treats. The owners are also lovely and friendly. We also loved the big fluffy towels and very comfortable bed. And not least the amazing view of Snowdon.
Lovely cottage ,great location, good base to go explore north wales from, very quiet and peaceful, would definitely stay again
Beautifully decorated, warm, cosy, chic and tasteful. Ideally located with unrestricted parking outside property - close to amenities but not right in the heart of things so peaceful and quiet at night. Beautiful views.
Property was in a beautiful location, so peaceful and quiet! Gemma was the perfect host and the annex was clean, well equipped and perfect for a place to escape to and relax for a few days. Beautiful welcome hamper as well as food for the animals on the farm which was a bonus. Location was great as although you felt like you were away from it all, you were only a short drive from Llandudno, Conwy and it didn’t take long to pop over to Anglesey either. I will definitely be back, thanks again to Gemma 🙂
Quiet & peaceful with lovely sea views
It was very quiet and peaceful.
Perfect location. Peaceful and quiet at nighttime, close to town if needed
Wonderful suroundings and a beautiful building. I liked the vibe of a country hostel with the facilities such as shower- and drying-room. It was very quiet and peaceful during winter and close to hiking trails as well as the train station.
