Waiters need a little revamp. They should act as a 5 star hotel personnel. Their appearance was as if they have just been taken from the fields. Uniform was not up the standard. They also need workshop on HOSPITALITY. They didn't have 'THEE THING'! The waiters by the gate and by the desertte serving stations kept on gazing at us. It felt uncomfortable. They just stood and stared at us😏. It was like they r 'policing' us🙄.

The area is nice. Large lake with some good game viewing from the lake and lots of birdlife. We stayed in a B&B called Tamboti (in need of a refurb and quite basic) linked to Shayamoya Game Reserve which is part of the same ownership as the houseboats. From what we experienced the game aspect was ok to good with a good guide. The B&B was very average, the restaurant at Shayamoya is hit and miss but in a nice enough setting. Overall fairly pricey for what we got but not a horrible experience. Wouldn't rush back but wouldn't put anyone off going either as there are some nice aspects just let down a bit here and there.

I loved the food they served, it was tasty and delicious, just wish there was an option of having a bucket of chicken wings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was there to take some time out so I definitely loved the pool area and the Mangwanani Spa. The walk from the dam back to the hotel, I didn't expect that exercise. Someone must look into an easier way of getting back up otherwise you end up not wanting to take part in the dam activities thinking about the walk back up for some of us who are not 100% fit.
