Conveniently located right off the main road. There is an exclusive entrance to the KFC and farmstall at the backend of the motel premises, which allows you to easily and directly get food without having to navigate to it from the front entrance. Rooms have everything you need for overnighting while travelling and are cosy. Wifi was fine, and we streamed HQ YouTube with no issues.

This was a great break for the road between Cape Town and Johannesburg. We had a lovely and large room with all that we needed. There is a great restaurant, In die Kraal, right beside the guesthouse. Perfect for grabbing dinner and then relaxing for the night. The breakfast was great! The staff were very friendly as well.

    Reception was not very friendly.

Reception was not very friendly. Would have liked more information in form of a pamphlet on the area and restuarant options. Chalet and surrounds not disabled friendly. Room was clean and neat. Spacious parking available.

Disappointingly Dilapidated, Uninformed Staff, and Mediocre Food My recent stay at Colesberg Lodge was an absolute letdown from start to finish. The rooms, frankly, resembled abandoned sheds rather than accommodations fit for guests. The disrepair was evident from the moment I stepped in, and the beds seemed to have hosted more guests than they could handle—clearly slept through and terribly uncomfortable. Adding insult to injury, the staff seemed clueless and unprofessional. The waitress was shockingly uniformed, not just in attire but also in basic knowledge and attentiveness. It was evident that there was a lack of training or care in ensuring guests felt welcomed or attended to. As for the dining experience, it was a sad attempt at providing sustenance. The apple pie I ordered was exorbitantly overpriced for what can only be described as a pitiful slice of disappointment. The food, in general, was far from meeting any modern culinary standards. It felt like a throwback to a bygone era where taste and presentation took a backseat. Overall, my stay at Colesberg Lodge was a regrettable mistake. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Save yourself the headache and seek accommodations elsewhere if you value comfort, service, and decent dining. This lodge needs a serious overhaul, not just in its physical infrastructure but also in its approach to hospitality.

Colesberg is great for an overnight stay when you are travelling. I couldn't imagine staying much longer than that as the town is very small and very quiet with not much to do besides eat and drink and very mediocre restaurants and pubs.
