This is a complete gem of a place with extraordinary Uzbek hospitality. The ambiance was charming, our spacious room with its exquisite mural of the local sights was wondrous. Wifi was very fast. The showers were hot. There was A/C. Breakfast was served early to accommodate our early departure and was generous. The cook was kind and friendly.

Nice city.
Nice city. Comparing to Samarkand Bukhara is smaller and main sightseeing spot are concentrated in the old city center so it's easy to see everything in 1-2 days. I would recommend to hire local guide and just relax walking via old Bukhara streets.

It was a unique experience & was like to set foot into the history of Central Asia. Several centuries of South Asia’s history starts from Bukhara, Samarkand & Tashkent. So, obviously this trip into the past was very exciting! Every building, monument in the city reminded us of their past glory & the great Mughals! From Chengis Khan, to Amir Taimur, Iban Batuta et all had set foot on this holy land. The city should get more prominence amongst the historians & tourists alike! Being nearest to India with 1.4 billion population & it’s really cheap value for money accommodation & delicious food will attract hoards of visitors. But before that more flight options & more English speaking young Uzbeks are the real necessity! We would love to travel many more times in the future. Long live Uzbeks! Long live Uzbekistan!

The old city is fabulous despite a lot of straight face tourists and despite the Coca Pepsi everywhere. Uzbekistan make a very bad deal with the capitalists. Most of the cars are Chevrolet. North American are changing the habits of the Uzbeks as well o many countries around the world. Yankees go home. Yankees go to hell

This is the most historically-focused town in Uzbekistan I have seen so far. The historical center is small, everything is in the neighborhood and very picturesque. Friendly locals, a lot to see and enjoy. Highly recommended!

I was not expecting that Bukhara will be a fascinating place to visit. Lots of historical places, architecture to visit. Great place to bargain as well. Food are so cheap and getting to places are easy especially if you download their taxi application.
Locals are very friendly.
Mekhtar Boutique hotel is a place full of charme, that préserves thé original features of the building, the original doors and floors, the beautiful staircase and the overall appearance. I hope it will never change to continue transmitting the magical atmosphere of the historic town. The persons who run the place are extremely kind and available to help and the atmosphere is familiar and relaxing. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the old city center. I would definitely return to Mekthar Ámbar if I had another chance to visit Bukhara!
The owner Nasridin and his wife Hamida are so so friendly and welcoming, we’ve traveled around Uzbekistan and this is the best place we’ve stayed in. All feels like at home. Generous and tasty breakfast with fresh fruits. Amazing location right in the centre of Bukhara. Rooms are specious and very clean. The owners let us stay longer after checking out hours without extra charge, it was very helpful as my mum didn’t feel well and our train was at 9pm. If I visit again Bukhara I will definitely stay only at this amazing place.
Wonderful hotel. The hotel is centrally located in Bukhara, one of the cultural centers of the ancient world. The rooms were spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated.
Islam, the front desk manager, was excellent. He anticipated our needs, spoke english, and helped to guide us around the center of Bukhara. He even accompanied me once to the rooftop to see the sunrise over Bukhara and he told me with a tale of the last king of Uzbekistan.
Highly recommended for location and staff.
5 mins walk from Lyubi Haus so plenty of restaurants nearby. Approx. 15 mins walk to Poi Kalyon.
Best breakfast we had of all the places we stayed in Uzbekistan
No English spoken (or very basic) so all communication done by audio translate into their phones but this worked fine
Basic facilities but what I expected for the price and the room was larger than expected and comfortable
Hosts welcoming and friendly. It's a small guesthouse with only a few rooms and the family live on the premises.
This hotel is amazing! We had to book it last minute as our previous hotel cancelled on us and they accomodate us without issues, even when we arrived late at night. They helped us arrange a taxi to pick us up, and they were super helpful with everything.
The room was big and comfortable, and the bathroom was new.
However, the best thing was the breakfast. It was the best breakfast of all the hotels that we stayed in Uzbekistan, really good!!
Very hospitable host, told all the tips about saving the money in the city, bus routes (you would not find such information in the web, Bukhara lacks bus info applications), cheap cafes etc. Hotel has everything for a low-key backpacker like me. Breakfast was good. It also is family-welcome: since it is poorly visited in December, you'd be probably alone in a room for three. Ah, and the cat is lovely.
A fairly new small family hotel decorated in the local Oriental style in the middle of the old city. All main historical sights are within walking distance. A pretty good breakfast on the terrace with a nice view on the old city rooftops. The hotel is also pet-friendly so we were able to stay there with our dog, which was the main reason why we chose the hotel.
Atmospheric, labyrinthine hotel in a converted merchant’s mansion a short walk from the center of the old town. Appreciated the elaborate decor of the rooms and that I was offered my choice of several different ones upon my arrival. Truly sumptuous breakfast, the best I had anywhere in Uzbekistan. Staff was helpful with arranging onward travel to Khiva.
Very nice hotel. I would like recommend to everyone. Everything was good. Rooms was very comfy with all modern facilities. Furthermore hotel placed in Old part of city so that all Old Building and Monument are nearby. Also restaurant and shops are nearby. Staff also very helpful. You could find any information in Reception(Front-Desk).
This is my favorite and most beautiful during Uzbekistan trip. The room looks fancy like you were back to the old days in Bukhara. It’s also comfortable. The location is wonderful. You can walk in attractive places like Kaylon Minerat, Lyabi Hauz in few minutes because it’s located in the old town Bukhara.
Lovely hotel in the center of Bukhara located in a historic building, you feel like you are in an ancient world. The hotel Is very well curated, especially the common patio and the rooms are high-end (keeping in mind that you are in rural Uzbekistan). The breakfast is fantastic and served at the patio.
We had a wonderful stay at Amulet Hotel, it is absolutely beautiful and Akmal, our host, was always very available and helpful. This is a lovely place to stay if you are in Bukhara, in an old madrassa, restored perfectly and right in the centre.
Best hotel I've stayed at in Uzbekistan.
Room was great and clean, also no problems with hot water.
The staff was even better than the rooms, really kind people willing to help out .
I wish I could take the hotel with me to Tashkent :)
Beautiful, spacious room with very comfortable bed and a big bathroom with amazing tiles. Nice breakfast, professional, courteous staff and friendly owners made my stay in this place the highlight of my trip to Uzbekistan.
This must be the best hotel we had in Uzbekistan.
The hotel is in the heart of the old center. There is so much variety during the breakfast. The rooms and bathrooms are incredible. It might our stay in Bukhara wonderful.
Everything was perfect, incredible boutique hotel, the decoration, the breakfast, the staff, the owner, the location, it was a zero fault. From far the best hotel I went in Uzbekistan.
