Lots of great options for food and shopping near by.
Lots of great options for food and shopping near by. The famous Hutchens was as good as advertised and had a friendly staff. The Mexican cantinas were fun as well as tasty. There's a great little park right across the street from Home2 Suites by Hilton. You can walk the path by the lake or ride your bikes. It's a pretty area. Even though the roads are a bit confusing at first, it's easy to drive to where we want to go.

Down town McKinney is a lovely place to visit .
Down town McKinney is a lovely place to visit . There are lots of old architecture buildings, museum, lovely souvenir shops ( clothes, boots, hats, ) and also, sweet shops and lovely restaurants with good food , beer and wine. I got cookies from Mary's mountain cookies ( she bakes a variety of cookies and they are all good ) Getting around McKinney is very easy with no traffic on the way.

Good: Coffee Machine in room, frig and microwave, 6am breakfast, handicapped room with 2 q beds, location, Beds comfortable enough, nice towels
Bad: Roaches in room, Staff no speak English (they think they do I guess), Waited a while before someone came to the desk to check me in, she was on the phone in the hallway. Coffee & juice machine not working, breakfast was horrible. This stay reminded me of people that bought a hotel but do not want to spend the money to run it properly. The outside had trash all over it, dirty place. They didnt want to fix the juice machine or spend a little extra on a good breakfast. It was obvious that They cut corners. Staff must have been family, hotel run by family members afraid to lose a dime and give me a refund for having to kill roaches in my room. There are too many hotels like this now. I think a whole family chips in to buy a hotel, they get the daughter with a baby or bad husband to run it and she really dont care about the property or the customers, just cares about the money. I now try hard to avoid hotels that are personally owned by these types of families. Best Western and Comfort Inn have both gone downhill since they let families buy them. I would not recommend this hotel.

I don’t know if it’s new management but the front desk staff cares about the guest and the stay at the property. The Tv worked fine, the room was quiet, the door keys worked, the staff was respectful. It’s no frills but it’s better than your average Motel6. It was completely clean of bugs or smells and the AC was super cold. We will definitely stay there again. Jason’s deli is right outside and Walmart is on the corner. Great location and comfortable bed made this a God send in the 104 temperature of Texas.

I can only speak for myself.
I can only speak for myself. I absolutely LOVED staying at this spot. My sister who is in a wide wheelchair could've gotten in our room with the greatest of ease. I have a torn meniscus in my knee, so at times, it's hard for me to get up. I forgot to ask for an accessible room. When I went into my room, I noticed that there were support bars all throughout the bathroom. Right then, I knew I was in love.
Every single morning breakfast was piping hot. This wasn't just cereal, bread, fruit and coffee either. They had the whole nine. Bacon, sausage, eggs, cereal, toast, waffles, fruit, milk, orange juice, apple juice, water, coffee, danishes of all sorts.
The bed was so comfortable until I didn't want to go to class. The lobby, hallways and bathrooms smelled so nice. There was this older gentleman who truly was the jack of all trades. I saw him handling food in the morning, repairing on equipment in the afternoon and taking the trash out at night. GEESH! When I return to McKinney, I'm going right back to this same location. Did I mention that the staff is AMAZING?!!! I gotta to go.

Our trip was from Thursday till Sunday most hotels didn't have that availability nor did they have king size beds. The Hotel was surround by restaurants, a movie theater shopping mall, gas station whatever you needed or wanted it was nearby. The hotel room was very clean the bed was very comfortable we had a back view of the woods I live where it's super quiet and I felt at home I didn't hear any neighboring noise whatsoever! unless we had no one next door!? we ate at a hibachi restaurant a few miles off of University Ave the next afternoon we drove about 49 min to Dallas Farmers market and shopped and ate at the Farmer Market (Hot Chocolate, Tamales, Brisket and Ice Cream.
The hotel looked and felt new. It looked clean and the staff who checked us in (Melissa) was excellent and very welcoming. The staff who checked us out, cant remember his name was also excellent. When we checked in, it seemed like there was a stain on one of the comforters, wasnt sure if it was from the iron or something that was placed on the comforter but Melissa changed the comforter with lightening speed and offered to switch our room.
Tasty breakfast, especially biscuits and gravy. Very nice and kind people at the reception desk. Professional cleaning service - both room and bathroom perfectly clean - I am saying this as a very picky person when it comes to cleanliness. I see hotel cares abot even as little details as lactoze-free coffee creamer. If I need to stay in a hotel near McKinney in the future, I will choose this hotel again. I recommend it very much!
Nothing at all. It is very run down and the first room bathroom sink did not have water and the second room had no working heater on a 23° winter night. and the desk clerk spoke very poor English. We finally asked for a refund and drove 15 hours home because every hotel was booked with emergency workers due to a storm in Ok/TX.
Loved the hotel itself. It was clean. I've stayed at this best western before. Very nice front desk people. Love the carpet thru out the hotel. Beds slept fairly well. We will be back. Love that they actually have breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits. The coffee was very good.
Aretha and Joy did a great job of taking care of us. The hotel was overbooked, so the room we had booked was not available. But Aretha let me tour two different rooms to see which one would work better for us. In spite of the mix-up, we were still taken care of. Highly recommended.
There was no breakfast in the location. I wish that they correct such misunderstanding since I thought there will be breakfast just to find out that they have it in the vending machine (which is nowhere near a real breakfast that I had with other hotels or hospices)
Due to bad road conditions, I had to stay in McKinney two extra nights. It was very cold outside, but I felt right at home. A special shout out to the young lady who did the breakfast bar. Very neat and clean and, like everyone else there, so friendly and helpful
The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean, and you have direct tv. The hotel also didn't smell like purple fabuloso. There are all kinds of good smelling fabuloso that is not the purple one. It's so stout it gives me a headache.
The staff was very friendly.. It was reasonably clean. No bedbugs, the modern dread of some many motels/hotels. I had refrigerator in my room, reasonably sized. There was a communal microwave down the hall.
I loved how clean and new everything was. I like the layout of the lobby. It was very cozy. Awesome location especially for those with pets! Awesome places to walk like the park behind the hotel.
This house was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with pillows, kitchen supplies, and games for the family to play. We also liked that it was an easy to walk to downtown McKinney
The hotel was centrally located, the staff was nice and the facilities were decent. The property was a little worn and there was a fence around it. A little disappointed in that.
