What Guests Said About Manzanita:

Manzanita is a hidden gem on the Oregon coast.

Manzanita is a hidden gem on the Oregon coast. It does not have all the fanfare and activities that Cannon Beach or Seaside have, but it is quiet and quaint. The restaurants that are open are delicious, local food and beverages and make you feel like you are at your home away from home. The local market, The Apple Store has everything you could possibly need and more. The staff is super friendly and helpful and it is taking a trip back in time. The design of the town off 101 where it is so easy to drive on past feels intentional and you can see why - this is a special place few people know about and that is okay. The beaches are some of the longest that you can walk along, and a little further north at Ecola State Park you can see down the coast line for miles. There is also a lot of hikes and trails that truly provide you with a breathtaking and memorable experience.

We visit Manzanita every year and love it. easy and hassle free... Some stores were closed - it was the middle of winter. But that's ok. The Manzanita Espresso spot is terrific and in the summer has great outdoor seating. Sand Dune bar is full of locals...

Manzanita is small, quaint, and much less crowded than the neighboring resort towns of Seaside and Canon Beach. Dining options were excellent and affordable. Yolk is a great place for breakfast but it does get busy. The beach is massive and excellent for wind sports and walking. Hiking in the two state parks on either side of town are scenic and well maintained. Parking anywhere in the center of town was easy.

We booked an oceanview room on the upper floor with full kitchen for a two night stay in mid week. We were initially given a corner room on the 2nd level without a view. When we advised the check-in clerk that our reservation was for an oceanview room she told us the only room available for us was on the first floor level. During our stay, no other guests were checked into the numerous 2nd floor level rooms that remained vacant. Our room also did not have a full kitchen as we expected. We were celebrating our anniversary, so this treatment was especially disappointing. The upside was that because of the vacancy rate, we could leave our curtains open to the first floor view, as their was very little foot traffic near us. Probably won't be going back to this site again.

Manzanita is about a 15 minute drive south of Cannon Beach.

Manzanita is about a 15 minute drive south of Cannon Beach. If you go to Manzanita, you must visit Cannon Beach as well. Cannon Beach has an amazing beach with Haystack Rock, and lots of restaurants and shops. Manzanita only has a few. The reason people go to Manzanita instead of Cannon Beach is because it is way less crowded, especially on the weekends and holidays. If you are ok with only a few restaurant options, Manzanita is very beautiful with a very long uncrowded beach. Be aware when traveling to the Oregon Coast, the water is very cold and rough. It is not a place for swimming or sunbathing. It is wild and rugged. It is great for beach combing, tide pools, walks and hikes, and photography and exploration.

Area was quite and a good place to get away.

Area was quite and a good place to get away. Was hard to find any place to eat breakfast. We had to go to the next town. Some places were only open for limited hours or take out for lunch and dinner. It was frustrating because we would check websites and facebook pages. People would say they were open and then when we would get there they wouldnt be. This however was not just Manzanita, it was all the towns up and down the coast. Just be prepared to be flexible.

Quaint older home VERY close to the beach. Liked that I could walk over to see the sunset or walk on the beach in the early morning. Loved the little town. If you like character old homes, this one's for you. Lots of towels and kitchen is well-supplied. Lots of room so we all fit in OK. Note: you have to walk through the main bedroom to get to one of the bedrooms, so the "4th" bedroom can really only be used for the children of whoever is staying in that bedroom.

Very nice, clean spot in a quiet neighborhood right next to downtown Manzanita. You can see tons of evergreen trees from the windows of the house making it feel like you're in a forest. I wasn't able to find my check-in instructions but they had a phone number to call and the person who answered was extremely kind and helpful. The heat works well and the fireplace was a lovely addition.

The location for being off the beach was very good. Within walking distance to most of Manzanita, and just a few short blocks from the beach. The WiFi was plenty strong enough and allowed for streaming television without interruption. There was plenty of bedding and towels, and the bathrooms and showers were very good.

The location was perfect, just across the street from the beach, less than 100 steps to the sand from the front lobby. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Nothing luxurious, just clean, comfortable and pleasant. Front desk staff was very helpful regarding which restaurants were open mid-week and how to get around.

In regard to "what did I think of the breakfast," there was no breakfast. Manzanita is such a quaint little beach town it is impossible to be in a bad location anywhere in town.
