Staying at the hotel is not just functional or practical - it becomes part of the experience of being on holiday in Detroit. It is the kind of builing you'd want to visit or wander around in when exploring the city, so being able to stay there overnight as part of a city trip is just fantastic.
And as a hotel it is top notch. The corner room I had was massive, with high ceilings, and very luxurious. Given that still larger rooms are available., I suspect it would be a great hotel for a family stay. The room was also very quiet - you see the city but do not hear it at all. Check in and check out were a breeze.
It is centrally located and close to public transport, so perfect as a base to explore the city.

Detroit is becoming a revitalized city with many great restaurants, sporting venues and entertainment venues. Very walkable and increased transit system would make this the perfect city to visit. It's so good to see the re-birth of the buildings and the businesses making this a city vibrant and attracting more visitors each year.

Detroit is a beautiful place to visit.
Detroit is a beautiful place to visit. Most people are relatively friendly. I had no problems, other than the place that I stayed. They had mice and it was a dead mouse in the sink on the second day. The person managing the property came in while I wasn't there. I couldn't cook my Thanksgiving dinner because there was no dining table. So my family had to eat with our plates in our laps. I was told to give a good review and they would give me back half of my money. They lied! I have text messages and pictures.

Detroit has come a long way from what it used to be.
Detroit has come a long way from what it used to be. There is a lot to do around the city. With the Q-line and the people mover being a mode of free transportation, it is much easier to get around if you can park just outside of the downtown area

the room was dated and had several things that were broken and a hazard brought it to management attention to help him stay on top of potential problems and he never even came up to check it out as he promised. #1
#2 I was over charged and never received my refund
as for the rest of the staff they were pleasant
it was our anniversary and we had tickets to a show in Detroit I would only return to eat and have a drink in the lobby that was the best part of our stay
Let's be honest, this place is not for everybody. It's a quiet neighborhood that is just starting to come out of despair. The property is older and you rent a bedroom that is quite small. But if you're a little more adventurous and you dig art, it's cool. If you're an artist who has hit the road on a tight budget, you're going to love it. If you're more of a luxury hotel traveler, you're not going to dig it.
I thought it was great. It was an experience until itself.
Everything was wonderful. The room was comfortable and up to date, with a gorgeous view of Detroit. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food in the casino/hotel was nice and the surrounding area has a ton of excellent dining choices. This time we didn't go to the Lions game, but the hotel is within walking distance of all the major sports venues and some theaters. Photos are from our 21st floor room
House matches the photos listed. I enjoyed how close the location was to downtown Detroit. I didn't have any issues parking during the day and night and my belongings were properly stored safely in my room. Bathroom,Kitchen,TV worked properly. Huge Closet was a plus.
Thank you Sean for sending over the house rules and details and answering my calls!
Innovative new hotel chain. Each room is a nicely appointed studio apt. Very clean and comfortable, and staff if helpful and friendly. This property is in the beautifully restored Book Building in downtown Detroit, which has undergone significant revitalization. I highly recommend trying this hotel, you won’t be disappointed.
I enjoyed the courtesy of the staff, especially the front desk, the cleanliness of the room, the other amenities (pool and fitness areas), and the free hot breakfast in the mornings. I also greatly enjoyed the view of Downtown Detroit and Canada. And, It was great to know the history of the hotel's site. I definitely will return.
Rooms were good and clean. basic no frills. Cheap. Saved money on parking which was a huge plus. The outside of the hotel was pretty poor, but the rooms looked like they were redone recently. If you just need a place to sleep, this was fine. They had a cat outside ...I love cats.
exceptional quality of the property and rooms. amazing staff. 15/10 experience. Will be back, favorite Hotel ever. The location mixed with the terrific hotel really made this a perfect option for staying in Downtown Detroit. Great room, modern everything, valet parking.
Awesome unique stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful and this location is walking distance from the Detroit Institute of Arts and their Science Centre (amongst other things). They also have a free shuttle service to take you downtown
Overall, really nice hotel, and would recommend to others. Within walking distance of many attractions in Downtown Detroit, as well as many restaurants and bars. Of course, the Apparatus Room (restaurant/bar at the hotel) is outstanding!
Excellent hotel the suites are top class
Location ideal to explore the area free shuttle within 5 miles radius
Staff extremely helpful especially Andre a local and the driver
Highly recommend when stay in Detroit
Great hotel, ideal location and really friendly staff who went out of their way to help me get parking figured out after I showed up a bit early. Appreciate that breakfast runs unto 10:30. Beautiful property.
A generous and beautifully furnished apartment in Downtown Detroit with walking distance to everything. The apartment was quiet and secure with a very comfortable bed and large windows
The location is center of the Downtown Detroit.
The room is nice, simple especially clean. You will able to do everything with your room, the kitchenette is complete.
There’s nicer hotels that cost less. Don’t get the luxury package because clearly the only thing luxury is the price you pay for a basic room. Not worth it!
