This small hotel is part of the Old Town of Maribor. It sits in a row of buildings along a boulevard parallel to the river Drava - a quarter for pedestrians, with bars and restaurants. Hotel and the surrounding structures show history but they are modernized in an unobtrusive way. It is easy to overlook the hotel, I had to look twice. Inside, I was received friendly and professionally. The interior is up to date and on the good side of functional, the breakfast room is a jewel - all in all: Good value for money, and in the center of Maribor's life.

I was not very impressed by Maribor.
I was not very impressed by Maribor. I had stopover here for one night during business trip. The historic center of the city is small, you can walk through it within an hour. Other parts of the city have typical socialist architecture from the time of Yugoslavia, which alternates with modern buildings. There are not many monuments or landmarks here. I definitely recommend visiting Ljubljana more if you choose cities in Slovenia to visit.

Maribor is nearly a good place to visit, but not quite.
Maribor is nearly a good place to visit, but not quite. The limited history is not looked after and presented well, for example the Pyramid hill has the remnants of a 12th century castle on top but it is completely overgrown with weeds and is not accessible. The grapevines on the pyramid hill are all dead and overgrown with weeds so its an unsightly walk to the top. The old town is nice but small and the side streets have been tagged heavily. Its not their fault, they were bombed heavily in the war so much of it has been lost. One day is plenty to have a look around Maribor on your way to somewhere else...

What a nice place Maribor is; a walkable centre with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly people, and good cafes and bakeries for breakfast, We had a good dinner on the terrace at Ancora on Jurciceva ulica, which we were actually sent to by the helpful waiter at Papagayo on Gosposka ulica, because they do a lot of gluten-free stuff, including good pizzas; being directed somewhere by someone from a rival establishment is not something that happens every day. There's a great ice cream place just at the south end of Stari most and good beer and cocktails at the places down on the riverfront.

We were in the theatre Lutkovno gledališče. MB has excellent shows for children. The language doesn't matter, you can understand👏👏👏

Apartments outside Maribor, on a hill with a view of the city. Very quiet countryside place, surrounded by green areas, narrow roads. We stayed only one night while traveling on a motorcycle, but we really enjoyed it, the room was small, but very well equiped, everything was just where you needed it, it was very clean and comfy, we rested well. There is a lot of parking space available by the house. Restaurants few km away. Great place to start Slowenia tour 🙂
Vila Krista is one of the best places we have been! Beautiful house, cosy and spacious apartment, tastefully decorated, equipped with everything you need. Quiet position with beautiful views of the hills, yet walking distance from Maribor city center. Matej has been super helpful and generous with tips of things to do and see. Thanks for a wonderful stay, and for sharing with us the very interesting history of this special place!
The apartment was perfectly located for exploring Maribor on foot, including squares and restaurants in the old town, interesting churches, the city park, and the Kalvarija viewpoint. Nearby bus stops and the railway station provide an excellent service to explore the surrounding area. The apartment was clean, spacious, well-furnished and well-equipped. There is a good breakfast restaurant immediately opposite.
Apartment was sparkling clean and great for a stay of 5 people. Well equipped kitchen, bathroom and wc, parking available next to the house. Flow water heater is available, what is great when you have 5 people staying.
The area is quiet, 25 mins walking distance from the center. Great price-quality ratio. The host was great and open for any questions.
I would recommend this apartment.
The location of the hotel by the river is a perfect base for exploring the city of Maribor. The riverside is currently being regenerated and it will be a lovely area to relax in once completed. Our host was very welcoming and our rooms, especially the beds, were extremely comfortable. Buffet breakfast for all appetites.
The location is pretty great, only about 10 min walk from city center, and near is Lidl and bakery and everthing you need for a shor trip. Also has huge free parking if needed.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and very spacious. Also the stuff was very nice and helpful.
Would very much recommend.
We booked a night here to rest on a roadtrip and it’s a nice comfortable hotel at a good location in Maribor. Perfect for a short stay, breakfast is ok and you can have a quick visit in this calm city as it is close to the center and you can leave your car at the hotel after checkout.
very clean, hotel quality sheets, well maintained rooms. The location is unbeatable for Maribor: you are next to the central square. On the day of my check in, I arrived early, and the staff kindly allowed me to check in. Very kind & considerate staff! Highly recommended!
Staff was very polite and ready to help you. Location of the hotel i good, easy to find by car, and close to the city center (about 20 minutes walking). Food was nice, continental breakfast. Parking space-large and free 😊.
The beds were kind of OK, and the room is enough for a one-night sleepover. It wasn't far from the city center so we could walk and didn't need a taxi or a bus. There was always a place to park our car.
Very, very clean. The staff is nice, very polite. The location was close to city center/attractions. Our Beagle was happy 😊 Excellent breakfast (various choices), healthy
Very well-designed and comfortable room. Convenient location on river and near center of city. Staff was very friendly and provided great local tips. Highly recommended!
