Quite a remote area but not far to a local village store and bistro where we dined one night. Glorious scenery around Cape Kidnappers and excellent Cafe at Clifton (Hygge)
Easy drive to Havelock North where there are excellent restaurants and shops

This is a great place to stay if you enjoy nature and the coastal regions of NZ.The local vineyards are on your doorstep and there is a great little foodstore nearby.

Te Awanga is in the countryside (between Haumoana and Clifton beach), so it was an ideal location to catch up on some rest and relaxation.
I attended a family wedding held at Te Awanga, so my time there was consumed by wedding festivities and I didn't have much of a chance for sightseeing (but I did drive to Clifton beach which was only 2kms away from the cottage). Stunning views.
Te Awanga is a lovely beachside area and was easy to get around. There was a dairy (general store) and takeaway shop in the nearby township of Haumoana and the sweet and sour pork was delicious.
