The Woodsman's Den, hotel in Saint Arnaud

Situated in Saint Arnaud in the Tasman region, The Woodsman's Den features a patio and garden views.

The Woodsman’s Den was the more beautiful way to end our summer family holiday. With the perfect location and scenery for the most relaxing time. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable to accomodate our stay especially with little ones. Anna was so helpful when needed and such a lovely host. I highly recommend staying here and we most definitely will be back again.

Tophouse Historical Inn Bed and breakfast, hotel in Saint Arnaud

Boasting a terrace, a bar and a shared lounge, Tophouse Historical Inn Bed and breakfast is situated in Saint Arnaud and is 34 km from Rainbow Valley.

It was a historical Inn lovingly restored to incorporate a lot of the history of the building. The room was very comfortable with a beautiful rural view. The shared spaces were spotlessly clean and the roaring fire in the dining area gave the place a cosy feel. Helen and Clint were so friendly and hospitable and Helen’s breakfast was very generous. The dinner cooked by the local chef, Sebastian, was also excellent. We both really enjoyed socialising over shared meals with other guests too.

Take food and drinks with you if you can, I was fleeced $23 for six pack of Monteiths at the local Convenience store / cafe / petrol station. Beautiful location, not many options for accommodation, and can be pricey. Some good hikes and walks but not much else barring the amazing lakes

There's a lot to do in and around Saint Arnaud, we spent our time swimming in the lake (and dodging sandflies) and listening to the birds and admiring the view. There's hiking and boating that can be done here which we didn't have time to do.

We should have stayed 2 nights to have more time mountain biking and taking advantage of the walks. The lake is also beautiful for paddle boarding or relaxing in the beach. It’s one of the most beautiful parts of the country and we didn’t have issues with sandflies either!
