Loved all the beautiful antiques and period pieces. We really felt immersed in the history of Reefton. It was like staying in a museum. And Jenette, our host, was most kind in posting back my trousers which I accidentally left behind! Thanks Jenette!

Noisy, probably due to been almost fully booked.
Noisy, probably due to been almost fully booked. No one available for check in. Keys set out with names on a table. Didn't see staff for my entire stay. Security a concern for me as anyone could access the building

Things to do: Blacks Point Museum, The School of Mines, bargain hunting/antiquing (three second hand shops), angling, gold panning, tramping. Very friendly people. A compact town, everything is within walking distance.
The Reefton Power Station/Scheme is well worth visiting. The old Reefton power scheme (established in 1888) that provided electricity for Reefton's street lighting, is being reinstated. Much of the work has been done, and a 220 kw plant will soon be in operation. The water intake and race are along the Inangahua River, just upstream of Reefton, and can be accessed from Rosstown Road.

The Bearded Miners on the main street are very informative and there are great pies! Dawsons Pub has excellent food. Locals are very friendly and helpful. You need at least 2 days to experience Reefton.

A very friendly town that is steeped in history.
A very friendly town that is steeped in history. There is a lot to do in Reefton and it's surrounding area.
There are several second-hand shops with a wide selection of goods.
The Reefton Information Centre is very helpful.
We particularly enjoyed a viewing of the Reefton School of Mines, which was accompanied by a very informative talk that lasted around 1 hour, as we viewed each exhibit.
Harold house is a destination! It is a superbly renovated old house, with all the convenience of a modern kitchen and bathroom. I especially like that the toilet was separate to the bathroom which is more convenient when there are 3 to get showered in the morning. However it is the decor and furniture that is the real delight, it takes hours to take it all in. To top it all off, there was a great array of breakfast food left for us in the fridge.
It is totally a must do when visiting Reefton, or actually a very good reason to visit Reefton
Accommodation was beautifully put together with each of our 4 couples having their own bedroom and en-suite. The decor was exceptional and the house itself provided us with every convenience for our use. The cafe next door was where we had our included breakfast consisting of full English or toasted muesli, both being of a very high standard. Would definitely stay here again.
Was so impressed with how clean and well equipped the house was and all the little extras, like the BBQ, board games and lovely art wok around the house.
Felt like a real home, couldn't have asked for any better place to stay. Would defnitely recommend to any one else looking for a plave to stay in Reefton.
A warm, clean, convenient place to stay, in a wonderful little South Island village. Easy to share the facilities, and nice to meet other travellers. Very clean, warm in the winter, and there's the history in the building that's palpable. Highly recommended for a few days and nights in historic Reefton.
Beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Very caring and accommodating about our dogs. nice to havd the use of a kitchen and lounge. Loved the rooms. Great breakfast. Made for a memorable stay in Reefton. Thank you Kelly.
Location was good, and easy walk over the bridge into Reefton, good meal at the local pub.
Rooms were big and airy, lots of books wished I'd had more time to read them, nice big shower head good sized bathroom, comfy bed and very quiet.
We really enjoyed the nice warm fire & the board games on offer. A very nice cozy house, which stayed very warm even through the cooler nights. Highly recommend Wilsons Hotel for a great meal, especially the lamb shacks & pork belly.
This is a lovely 1 bedroom house. Very comfortable, with excellent amenities. Walking distance to restaurants. Reefton is a town with visiting. We would definitely stay here again, at this property, to properly explore the area..

It was fresh, clean, comfortable and warm with a well equipped kitchen plus spacious living area. The house is in a quiet street but still within easy walking distance of Reefton's main street
Good spot in Reefton for our two night stay. The lounge/living room was a lovely sunny spot and the full kitchen was useful. Easy walking distance to points of interest around the town.
We didn't have breakfast - no time. Lovely old Hotel, our room had a sunny deck and it was close to everything. Very comfortable bed with extra pillows available. We will be back.
