A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown.
A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown. I could've stayed here weeks. It was a great location to be based at for Roy's Peak Summit, more hiking and days spent by the lake. Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.
Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

My daughter loves the lake and playground which is less than a 2 min walk. The Mexican place was really nice next door. The laundry was excellent we did all our washing easily. Nice bar, with good atmosphere. A short walk up the road to another little cafe and store was convenient and the food there was also very good. Access to trails and the beach was very close by and they had bikes we could use for free. Very nice. Staff was great.
