When I walked into the house it was like arriving "home". The instructions for entering was detailed and easy to follow. After walking in and opening the kitchen window a Tui bird was on a tree just outside singing. This became a morning ritual to open the kitchen windows and let the various bird songs flow inside.
The rooms were setup perfectly for our family with thick curtains to keep out the sun if the teenager desired but able to be opened for the younger kids to let the day in. The hosts were wonderfully accommodation in helping to charge our rental EV from the 10A socket. I hope this home is available on our next trip here, the really made it feel like home away from home.

It's a very big place -- especially for just 1 bed, with 2 TV's (one gigantic) and 2 toilets (one on each floor). Hosts are friendly and very accommodating for our dietary breakfast requests (vegan) - exceeding expectations. The place has everything you need and is in great condition. If you don't need WIFI - this place is almost perfect.

They were lovely to us. We were asked what we would like for breakfast and were given a freshly cooked breakfast. Very friendly owner who was happy to help in any way. Great for bird lovers with a great mix of places. The Waikanae Estuary was beautiful and we watched a lot of sea birds. Nga Manu Nature Reserve was awesome with a friendly Tui and Kaka landing on us, great for kids. We didn't go but there's also Kapiti Island Tours, a must do when we go back. There's also a great walk, mostly up hill and back down at Barry Hadfield Nikau Reserve. When you get to the top you have amazing views of the coastline and Kapiti Island. It's also full of native Nikau's making you feel like you've walked into a different world, it takes about half an hour up and 20 minutes down.JoNew Zealand - 10Scored 10

We were there to participate in a sports tournament and the sport's (petanque) faciities were excellent. That apart there is a huge variety of restaurants and fast food places available, great shopping and supermarket facilities and many beaches within easy travelling time. Highly recommended.

Visited Paraparaumu specifically to visit Kapiti Island for the day - which was exceptional - fantastic trip and a must do for everyone. Bed was VERY comfortable, and being able to spend some time relaxing in the hot tub was the cherry on top! We didn't use the carpark, but there is one available. The property is a brisk walk away from the main road where the bus stops are, and a supermarket is also not far away. Overall, it was just a really lovely and stress-free stay that really complemented our trip to beautiful Paraparaumu. Would definitely stay here again :)RanNew Zealand

Our room had a comfy bed, large tv which is what we’re all used to now, modern bathroom and kitchen cabinetry with neutral colour palate for walls and carpet. A good modern standard motel room with all that is needed, we’ll certainly be back when we next have to book a motel stay on the coast. Thanks for the stay.CatherineNew Zealand

They were so happy with the accomodation and said it was so much nicer than staying in a motel. In particular they: Loved the friendliness of the hosts. Easy to connect with via phone. Everything about the cottage was beautifully presented and comfortable. Enjoyed watching the tuis feed.
