Cable Bay Views, hotel in Oneroa

Located in Oneroa, Cable Bay Views offers self-contained apartments & larger houses all with beautiful garden or water views. Guests enjoy free WiFi.

Cable Bay Views is perfectly located with an easy walk into the main town and also close to a few vineyards/restaurants. The room itself was lovely, modern, clean and comfortable. No air-conditioning so the room was very hot (March) and needed the fan and doors open to cool it down. I'm not sure if breakfast was an option, we walked into town for breakfast. The room also had a very private balcony with a lovely view. I would highly recommend Cable Bay Views!

The property said it was in Oneroa, but was actually a few kms out of town. Bus was convenient though. Fenice and the Waiheke Grocer we’re both fabulous. Got a bargain at the Recycle Boutique. Cyclone prevented beach time, but had a lovely massage come to us (Inner Spring). Even in bad weather Waiheke was fun and beautiful

Charming small main town on Waiheke Island.

Charming small main town on Waiheke Island. V good bus service and is served by 2 ferry likes to Auckland. There are several excellent restaurants and many wonderful wineries on the island, which we recommend. The locals are friendly and helpful. We have stayed in Oneroa several times and always look forward to returning. It is not a cheap destination.

Great place to visit, lots to do & see. Earlier in the week a number of places closed due to Covid as they can't get the staff. Closer to the weekend more places open. Enjoyed lots of Cellar Door tastings & took lots of wine home to stock our cellar.

Waiheke Island is stunning and the location of this Bach in Oneroa was ok - a 15 minute walk into the village for shops and restaurants. The big back deck has some water views. This house is obviously a families' holiday home as there is a large amount of everything, which is a nice change from the properties that only provide the bare minimum. There are plenty of cleaning products, paper towels etc, and there are large amounts of plates, glasses, cups and kitchen items, They are just all very dated. It is a well-equipped old cottage.

The room was clean and comfortable. We were in a garden room with a lovely outlook - felt like being in a rainforest. Wifi was good. Staff were friendly. The breakfast delivered to the room was lovely and the homemade afternoon teas were such a treat! It was a 5 minute walk to Little Oneroa beach and a short stroll into Oneroa itself. Accommodation on Waiheke is very expensive so this felt like quite a good deal.

If I could give it 7 stars, I would. Dyan and Rob (who run the lodge) are amazing. Their hospitality is unmatched. Included is afternoon tea and breakfast for each day of your stay, which is homemade daily by Dyan. They really bend over backwards to make sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Will 100% be returning to Waiheke Island and specifically the Tawa or Punga Lodge again in the future.

The property was lovely, and very quiet and peaceful. Very pleasant outlook. Several choices of places to sit. Not too far from Waiheke Village (walking distance). The breakfast was lovely, with fresh fruit, sliced up, every morning, and fresh yoghurt, along with cereals, toast and choices of jams and spreads. Tea and coffee available 24/7 on both floors.

Great apartment on Waiheke, very spacious for two people, nice and clean/modern, amazing location right by Oneroa village and short 3min walk down to the beach, also right by the bus stop. There’s also a washing machine / dryer (we didn’t need it but very handy for longer stays) and full kitchenette with fridge/freezer.

Hosts were very thoughtful and the apartment was equipped with lots of treats and drinks. Heat pump, heated towel rail and cable TV all made up for some bad weather. The location was very handy to Oneroa village which had a good selection of nice restaurants. We had a great stay and would stay again.
