We particularly liked all of the wooden features, and sitting outside on the wooden deck. Absolutely stunning setting. Loved the huge fireplace and marshmallows to roast. Much care and attention to detail by hosts, which ensured an unforgettable stay.

The Fern & Thistle Luxury Accommodation, hotel in Milton

Providing garden views, The Fern & Thistle Luxury Accommodation in Balclutha offers accommodations, an open-air bath, and a garden.

This historical home is spectacular and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Our bedroom and bathroom were beautifully presented, as was our view over the gardens outside our windows..Matt, our host was friendly and made sure all his guests were happy. Could it get any better? Yes, it did. Homemade breads and jams, cereals, fresh fruit juice and fruit, plus a selection of coffees and teas were on offer for breakfast. Our only regret is that we should have stayed longer. I highly recommend this accommodation.A hot tub and sauna are also available to use.

The suite is situated in a new residential area, 5 min drive from the city centre. The flat is quite big for two person stay and the bed is extremely comfy. The host has also provided breakfast and basic utilities for our stay. I would definitely come again.

The walking tracks, ease of exploration of the Clutha District when based in Milton, the fish and chips from the North End Dairy. The short walking track at Bull Creek was stunning! Also loved the Government Track and the tramp from Outram Glen to Lee Stream. It is well worth visiting Lawrence and exploring the gold mining history.
