Disapointed in the setup, cooked some toast but got the margarine out of the fridge and had to throw it out as it was mouldy

Sue & Paul are exceptional hosts, delightful to talk to! If you stay at Grey Ridge - highly recommend to make it in time for dinner or the tasting/ tour!
The room was spotless clean, bed was very comfortable - we had a great night of sleep.

Beautiful town in the heart of Central Otago with an alpine village feel. Lots of outdoor activities and close to other towns such as Cromwell and Wanaka without the overpriced accommodation of Wanaka and Queenstown. I always stay in Alexandra and use it as my base to access all of Central Otago, being a rep i find it good value for money.

Our aim was to ride some of the bike trails and sample some of the local wine.
Both of these activities are well catered for in Alexandra. Everyone is friendly and supportive of the local small businesses.
Alexandra is a bit light on eating out choices, but plenty of options in Clyde and other small towns.

Friendly service at restaurants, boutique markets and wineries. The river walk and picnic areas are gorgeous. Love the Mexican cantina in town. Terrific taco menus - it looks, tastes and feels exactly like being in Ensanada!!! Really enjoyed Desert Heart Winery - lovely hosts and picture-perfect setting. Their food and chardonnay are worth a visit, but MUST book. Enjoyed a film in the cinema in Clyde with their luxurious leather seats, only way to fly! Oh, all three days were superb weather - hottest in the country!! Did I mention the rail trail??

Ideally located in Central Otago with its handy location to Cromwell, and a short trip down to Roxburgh. Only an hour away from both Ranfurly and Wanaka and only slightly longer to Queenstown. A town with beautiful surroundings and handy amenities. Its a favourite for me.
Sue and Paul are very nice hosts. We chose the optional casual dinner, which was delicious, this allowed us to get to know our hosts and how they came to own and run Grey Ridge Vineyard. The wine is excellent and it was enjoyable to tour the vineyard with Paul. Sue prepared a delicious continental breakfast each morning with her homemade jams and jellies. We would certainly come back in a heartbeat and highly recommend anyone else to come to Grey Ridge Vineyard. The surrounding countryside is typical New Zealand … outstanding beauty.
The guest facility at Dunstan Road is in a separate building overlooking the paddocks towards the hills beyond Alexandra. The location is wonderfully quiet and restful, yet within easy reach of Alexandra for shopping and Clyde for the best restaurants in the area.
The rooms are beautifully appointed, well equipped and sparkling clean. Our hosts were cheerfully helpful and most pleasant to deal with. The breakfast hamper they provided was perfect.
This was an absolutely first class B&B experience: strongly recommended.
Didnt have breakfast, like close to the town centre , from the outside looks like a nice hotel inside thats another matter, stairs up to first floor badly lit fell over damaged my right hand and left shoulder, room was clean wall paper pealing off the walls, shower has no water pressure, there is no reception have to check in at the bar, staff friendly, it needs a complete reno which would be costly but its position to the town it may be worth while and could be a good long term investment
We had three nights here, it's a good base for visiting Central Otago in my opinion. Lovely spot, we ate our dinners outside in the sun (fair enough, it had to be quite early meals as the sun was going behind the hills at about 6.00pm!) and with the cattle looking on. Alexandra is a pretty neat town and the landscape is imposing, going up the hill to the lookout is something I recommend. The breakfast basket here is very good too, the dark bread was very much to my taste.
John and Suzanne are incredibly nice, and we enjoyed our stay thanks to their exceptional hospitality.
We had a dinner with other guests, and they welcomed us altogether.
Not to mention wine was great, food from John’s vegetable yard, and prepared by Suzanne was the best cuisine we ever had in New Zealand.
The property has a wonderful view, and there are chairs and tables outside so that guests can spend their relaxing time there too.
The property was. dry secluded. It was a green oasis in the middle of a barren landscape and was just a short distance from Alexandra or Roxburgh. The suite was large and modern with a very comfortable bedroom and bath. Everything was quality finishes and the breakfast was perfect. Laundry facilities and great WI-FI. Great communication with owner.
Perfect spot to experience the vineyards of the Alexandra wine region. Paul and Sue are exceptional hosts and clearly love sharing their beautiful space. Private entry and area to relax both indoor and outdoors overlooking the fields of Pinot Noir vines, olive trees and mountains. Five star bedding for a restful nights sleep.
We loved our very last minute stay in Alexandra and really enjoyed the central location of the motel. The trampoline and swing ball set were a huge hit with the girls too. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, plus the unit was exceptionally clean. We will absolutely revisit in the near future!
Great proximity to the Rail Trail & Lake Dunstan cycle trail. Added bonus of being able to hire an e-bike from the property. Situated between Clyde & Alexandra meant plenty of options for coffee, drinks and dinner. Peaceful setting!
Large comfy bed with hotel sheets (nice and cool) Unit has everything. Good size TV eith subtitle setting. Cosy lounge. Modern kitchen well stocked. I haven't slept this well in years. Good shower. Very relaxing stay
The location had great views, was quiet and close to town --- and the famous Alexandra Clock. The unit was comfortable, sparkling clean, warm and well equipped. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Was the perfect little place for me and my partner to wind down after a day tramping in the hot Alexandra sun. Can't fault this place one bit, for the price, location, and amenities, it was amazing.
Very quiet stay amongst the rows of vines, located very close to Alexandra, very cosy, comfortable and clean. Well presented property. Table and chairs outside the door.
Excellent location, close to Alexandra town centre and bike trails. Excellent view. Very comfortable with everything we needed. Warm Welcome from owner Charley.
