Enschede isn't the tourist hotspot of other places in Holland but the old town is beautiful with lots of places to eat and drink. The new town blends nicely and is immaculately clean. Driving is easy plus the train network is great and easy to use. Germany and its delights are only five minutes away but best of all, the locals are lovely. Hire a bike and get around in this rider friendly town much easier. The Rijksmuseum, though not a patch on the one in Amsterdam is worth a visit though a bit pricey. Lovely place to visit but don't expect too much as its quite a small town.

I did not eat at the place.
I did not eat at the place. I ate in town - bought take-aways when I needed to.
It helps to ask others for directions - it helps as the places are not easy to find generally.
I would avoid booking into places that are not confirmed as hotels or doing background checks on the place advertised. Hostel Enschede is false advertising unfortunately

Great place but way too few accomodation options!!!
Great place but way too few accomodation options!!! This drives the price up and doesn't give visitors much choice. Very disappointing in this regard but the city is terrific. Well be back (but will have to book accomodation VERY early it seems).

Enschede is a very clean town which has a very good local bus network and trains to other areas of Holland. We visited the large market on Saturday and it was very popular and the street market food Was excellent . There were plenty of cafes and restaurants. Of course there were plenty of bikes as everyone seems to have one. Many lovely old buildings and churches open to the public.

We didn't visit the town as it was a one night hotel stop over, but the view from the balcony was interesting and i am sure the town has much to offer. The hotel and town are well connected by motorways making it easy to get to and just over an hour to Amsterdam.

Well, Enschede is a city that punches well above it's size...
Well, Enschede is a city that punches well above it's size concerning shopping, as many Germans from across the border like to shop there as well. The market on Saturday is especially well visited. Another day tourist magnet are the coffee shops. There is a whole lot of culture going on as well, especially music, but also cinema. There are two cinemas right in the city center which we like to visit to watch English language films, as the Dutch don't usually dub movies but show them with subtitles. It's not a city you would visit without having a specific reason in mind first, as there is not much in terms of sightseeing, but, as luck would have it, Enschede can provide plenty of reasons to visit
I stayed there for two nights. The host Francesco is a rare person: very gentle and friendly. It was the first time for me in the Netherlands and Francesco even helped me giving some advices about Enschede and the local life. As visible in the photos, there is also a cooking area in your room, so you can also cook by yourself. Anyways, you will not probably use it, since the location is strategic: right in the central zone of the city, above the host's Italian bakery and 5 mins far from Enschede central railway station.
The place is absolutely great. The location of hotel is close to the railway station, city center and 15 minutes from UT by public transport. Room is stylish, clean, the bed is comfortable, the lights are conveniently automated, the electronic keys work as expected, internet connection is stable and suitable for work.
Would be nice to have breakfast options on the spot or a mini fridge in the room.
PS The mirror in the room with its lighting is absolutely stunning!
Very nice farmhouse, located in a green and peaceful area, about 15 min from Enschede city center, by car. Supermarkets and restaurants easy to reach by car. We had all the comfort , rooms are small but with everything we needed and beautifully designed. Very good quality of beds and pillows, quite rare:) Bonus netflix and an outside terrace.I hope to visit again.
Great location, super clean, with a super friendly host. It is located at the heart of Enschede within walking distance of the old market and lots of bars and cafès. Also, it takes less than 5 minutes to get to the central station. The host surprised us with complimentary Tiramisus from their own Italian bakery next door.
We booked through Booking.com.
Price was ok. The personal was great as we had a last minute problem and they helped us vey kindly.
Only problem : the hotel parking was full and we didn’t know we should have booked a parking space! Had to go to a further away parking and walk back to the hotel under heavy rain!
A very nice place to stay in lovely Enschede. Very cosy room with private bathroom, tea, coffee and etc is at the guest’s disposal, all is impeccably clean. The host is a very nice gentleman and is always there to help and support. Walking distance to city center and major places of interest / shopping.
The location was excellent, right on the campus of the University of Twente, with good access to Enschede and Hengelo. The rooms were very comfortable and outfitted to a high standard. Service was excellent - helpful and courteous staff, and the restaurant served quality food.
Great location in city center. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room to put everything. Good breakfast. Kudos for the offer of skipping the housekeeping and getting a 5€ voucher. Best offer I've seen in a hotel to forego (for some, unnecessary) services.
Spacy rooms with bonus large balcony. The position is very good. A lot of parking space. Breakfast personnel very nice and responsive. Reception quick and efficient, willing to help. Good wellness and pool area with great view.
Excellent hotel in a good location. Friendly staff were very helpful and overall we would return without a second thought! Hosts were very helpful and even gave us a free lift to the train station for our return to Amsterdam.
The entire hotel is very well kept and modern. Not only was the bed comfortable, but they offered two different firmness of pillows, which is much appreciated. The free coffee/tea machine in the lobby was a great bonus!
Very comfortable, large, with 2 rooms, new apartment, fully equipped with kitchen facilities. Great location. Great coffee shop , bars and restaurants just outside the building.
The outlook to the church is nice. There is a supermarket within a short walk, as well as the Sprakel Restaurant, which I preferred to what the restaurant at the hotel offers.
A good choice of cooked and Cold buffet breakfast available. Great rooms with very comfortable beds. Large bathrooms.
Very clean hotel with friendly staff.
