Where to start, everything about Casa Mia was beyond our expectations. We had a garden room, king bed, nice shower, and small back patio. Awesome breakfast each morning and a very short walk to the beach. Then there is the kiteboarding lessons with Nick and Marco. They are great instructors!!! The entire staff at Casa Mia is exceptional. They even helped us with our Spanish lessons each day. One of the best vacations we've ever had.

We stayed for 7 days and wow !!! We had a blast! The property is very well positioned right across the beach with restaurants and cafes nearby . The owners went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and they even arranged our massages , restaurant bookings and transfer to Cancun !! It was so much appreciated!! The rooms are very beautiful spacious and well equipped (everything you need is there !!) and they cleaned it every day !!
What can I say more : I will definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyway who wants to simply relax, enjoy the pool, beach ….

Unless you are a kite boarder there is not a lot to do, it's a place to read a book and relax. However, you are going to pay for that luxury. The restaurants are expensive (for good reason, but it's still the truth) and some of the hotels are way overpriced for what you get. However, it is very nice to be in such a chill place for a few days . Two nights seems sufficient, but it depends on your desires.

We stayed in el cuyo for a week.
We stayed in el cuyo for a week. We travel with two kids so we want a pretty low pace. The village is small but charming. The beach is great.
If we were traveling without kids I would suggest maybe three nights so you have time to enjoy the beach, and do a tour in the lake.
Recommend lunch at Savios.

El Cuyo has long been on my list to travel to. The beach is beautiful although depending on wind, depends on how rough the gulf is therefore it can be quite choppy and not so enjoyable.
The town is very quiet so it is a switch off from the world visit if you go.
Eating out in town there are some lovely places, LAGUNA was delightful and served excellent food with fantastic service. Off The Vine restaurant was also lovely with a great atmosphere, excellent food and great location

IT IS A NICE LITTLE TOWN, GOOD TO RELAX A COUPLE OF DAYS. YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL TO BRING ENOUGH CASH BECAUSE THERE IS NO CASH MACHINE IN TOWN AND THE NEAREST IS 2 HOURS AWAY. MOST OF THE PLACES DON'T ACCEPT CARD PAYMENTS EVEN IF THE SAY YES. BEACH IS NICE BUT THEY DONT CLEAN IT, SO THERE IS A LOT OF STINKY, DRY ALGAE.

El Cuyo is a quiet, unspoiled corner of Mexico that we were lucky enough to experience before it gets spoiled like many other coastal areas. It has retained its character as a fishing village, has many excellent restaurants and a virtually empty beach. Good birdwatching also.
