This guesthouse sits in the Draa Valley, next to the peaceful Zagora palm grove. In a Moorish palace, it offers views of the desert landscape and large outdoor pool.

We stayed for one night and then had a trip to the desert for another night. The room was very clean and the location just the right compromise between close to the center and quiet.
The desert trip was far off the normal tourist routes. Two jeeps took us, another couple and the equipment to the border of the national park where the large dunes start. We had a private walk through the dunes and slept on a mattress under the stars. It was an exceptional experience. In case of a sand storm, the organizers would have provided a tent for us to sleep in. Still, you should expect some wind in the night, so make sure to bring something to cover your head. The food was ok, just don’t expect something like from the best restaurants if you’re cooking on a campfire in the middle of the desert. The trip was 2000 dirham per person (without trying to bargain), which is definitely more expensive than if you go with other organizations. But for us the whole experience was well worth the money.

Nice very welcoming humans away from touristic path. Very historical.
You can ask at chez Ali about guides like Abdelhad or Molay Mustapha to show you around.
Not far from desert. Very rich of history and culture of Morocco. Very special and unique.

No decent size shops not even a proper supermarket eg Carrefour. Can be difficult if not speak French or Arabic . Lots of beggars and sad sights like a man scavenging in bins. Dry and hot and dusty. No local bus services . Pedestrian crossings are ignored. Feels like the back of beyond lots of rubbish

Zagora is the gate to the Sahara desert.
Zagora is the gate to the Sahara desert. The village itself has a lot of nice bars, restaurants and hotels, and is the starting point for guided tours in the desert, all or not on a dromedary, all or not with an overnight stay in tent camps, for 1 or more days. Next to that, Zagora has twice a week a very big local market (Wednesday and Sunday) that is a must to experience! Further down the N9 you can find the small town Tamegroute, famous for its artisanal green pottery. Also a must to stop there and see the 7 families at work outside.
Amazing stay at the Dromadaire. It has more of a guest house vibe than a hotel. Spacious apartment with an en suite bathroom, a cute little balcony looking on the main street of Zagora, and a delicious breakfast served in the restaurant downstairs.
The owner mr Mustafa and his son Redwane took real good care of us and gave us excellent tips on things to do and see. We discovered hidden gems in the Kasba and learned so much thanks to mr Mustafa who had such interesting stories to tell.
Highly recommend.
Very comfortable Riad, a few blocks off of the main road through Zagora. The owner picked me up at the bus station and cooked a fabulous welcome dinner. The room was very comfortable with good A/C, hot water, and Wifi. The very kind and generous owner lent me his bicycle and I spent a fantastic day riding from village to village and exploring the small paths beneath the palm trees of the Draa Valley. It was a great experience. Thank you Abdeslam for everything. I had a great time.
I had the single room in the small building behind the common lounge tent with my own little terrace with a date palm.
WiFi was working well as I had writing to do.
The ambience of the lush garden, the buffet breakfast (not often found in small hotels) and especially the care by the manager who offered me a different room if I preferred; which I did not. Plus when after four days I left I got a bag of fruits for the drive across Jebel Sarhro. Great service
We had a really really lovely stay, we loved everything about the place , The owner Moulay was very welcoming, he had a work with all hotel guest, which we found really nice of him. Ibrahim from the front desk was also welcoming and attentive to all of our request. Not all Road serve alcohol, but at Riad Sofian they have a nice choice of wine and spirits. We particularly enjoy the Moroccan red wine 😊 we will defenitly go back on our next trip 😍
There are rare times when you are welcomed to your hotel/riad/dar/wherever you’re staying and it feels like you’re being welcomed home. This is one of those cases.
Asaad and Omar are kind, warm, and incredibly welcoming in an authentic way. And they are willing to accommodate whatever you need. It was great to get to stay here and I would recommend it to anyone.
The property is clean and tidy, the family who own the small hotel are very friendly and help with everything you need.
They don’t speak much English but the owner brought his nephew over who spoke fluent English to help us sort out a trip for the day.
Lovely quiet area with lots of shops and restaurants close by.
Probably the best value hotel in zagora.
Excellent value. Exceptionally spacious room tastefully decorated. Loved the patio and private roof terrace to gaze endlessly at the stars. The gardens were lovely and staying on the fringe of the lush palmery added to our emersion into Zagora. Meals were terrific and convenient. Staff were extremely hospitable and sincere. Housekeeping excellent.
I was welcomed with open arms, the hospitality and friendliness of Brahim and Zahra were beyond my expectations. I was treated like a member of the family, served amazing fresh bread for breakfast and they shared their food when breaking the fast after dark. Lovely quiet location in the residential area of Zagora, close to all your needs.
To me this hotel was not a hotel, it was like coming back home to see a long lost family!!! The owner Samir was like a brother, we will seat outside of his hotel door step and chat our way through life. I don't have words to describe my happiness in this place. Will find any excuse to come back to Zagora so I can stay again in this hotel.
I liked the breakfast which was one of the best that I ate in Morocco. The bread was fresh, the eggs were great and I liked the juice and jams. The bed was comfortable. The internet and air conditioner worked fine. The room had a refrigerator that I enjoyed. The staff were kind and friendly. I would return here and recommend.
The food was amazing both dinner and breakfast were the best we had during 2 weeks in Morocco , the room is spacious, and comfortable. It needs to improve the facility in the bathroom but thanks to the wonderful staff and great food, I will give a 10. Nothing else to compare after a dessert trip.
There’s a reason there’s o many good reviews, the place is great! great staff, nice area to relax in…and there’s several of them, the artistic creations on the walls and rooms that adorn the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very hospitable and helpful hosts, wise decorated room, beautiful garden and fireplace in the evenings made our stop in Zagora unforgettable. Thank you!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our bikes were parked just outside the hotel door. We arrived in the evening, so we had a late dinner which was nice. The swimming pool area is great too!
Amazing hotel with beautiful pools under the palm trees. The owners were really nice. In the middle of the oasis, they grow their own vegetables nearby.
