The view of the river is perfect, so peaceful for sunrise and when sun comes down too. They cooked an amazing dinner (free every Friday same as the boat in the river for sunset) which was delicious with so many dishes and big portions. Great also to share table with the rest of the people staying there. Very comfy beds, great WiFi everywhere, good bathrooms and they even kept some bags for me which is really appreciated. It was lovely to feel surrounded by nature all the time.

Superb location right on the mekong and in the centre of the old town, so easily reached for a small fee from the Chinese train station or airport. Really good breakfast and lovely view over the mekong; ideal to crack a beer and watch the storms in the evenings.
Undoubtedly the best attribute is the receptionist Kit (spelling?) who will go out of his way to settle you in, help you order transport, book tours etc, and will offer unbiased advise on the best tours and prices, and a, little about Laos culture if you're keen.

Great hotel in central location. Walking distance to city centre and there is also a free shuttle service whenever you want. Very good food in the restaurant both for breakfast and dinner. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite. The balcony had a view over the lovely poolarea. Great service from the staff who helped us get train tickets (that were complicated to buy). Highly recommended hotel!

I just loved Luang Prabang. The centre is a one in a million type place. Some people might dismiss it as touristy because there are so many guest houses and gift shops, but the shops are also wonderful shops and the glory of the place is that it is completely infused with spirituality and in particular Buddhism. One of the best things you could possibly do is to attend one of the numerous morning almsgiving ceremonies around 6 am. The food market in the centre of town is fantastic and the night market right beside it is just as good. Luang Prabang is an 11 out of 10 type of place .

Laung Prabang is easily reached from Vientiane by the China/Laos high-speed train - we made our booking through 12Go Asia - simple to book with e-tickets emailed back to you.
Note: Train tickets only go on sale 3 days before the day of travel and sell out quickly - no turning up on the day and hoping to buy a ticket like you can in the Western world - planning ahead and booking early is essential.
Also note that aerosols and liquid sprays are forbidden on the train (bags are x-rayed and manually searched on entering the train station) - no spray deodorants, perfumes or insect repellents - they will be confiscated!!

I loved the town of Luang Prabang!
I loved the town of Luang Prabang!
The town is just big enough to plenty of things to discover and see.
I suggest getting up early before 10 AM because it gets very hot after that. The town then becomes alive around 6PM, after the heat of the sun is gone.
I like renting a scooter to get around, but the town is easily walkable.
There are masses and masses of Chinese tourists, which can sometimes be disrespectful during the Alms Giving ceremony. I found many of them a bit disrespectful of the ceremony & turned it into a bit of a circus with cameras everywhere, shouting, talking, crossing in front of the monks. Sad. But it’s still a beautiful occasion to witness.

Luang Prabang has a unique feel, which is reflected in its status since 1995 as a UN World Heritage site. This means that the historic centre is being both preserved and renovated. The city is in a stunning location, set among mountains and at the confluence of two rivers, and has plenty of French colonial buildings. Every restaurant we went to served wonderful food, both Laotian and western, and had very friendly service. I will go back for a longer visit as soon as I can.

I enjoyed the walkable nature of the city and the ready availability of tuk tuks and other transport if needed. I enjoyed the river trip options and the fact there were some great restaurants and cafes (Popolo, Khaiphaen, Zurich Bakery) among the raft of very ordinary ones. I loved the small TAEC museum and the informative staff. The Storytelling in English was wonderful. The Chinese New Year period was very busy and some places were overcrowded. Best to avoid if possible.
The Hotel is very well located, in just a few steps you are down at the Mekong river promenade or at the night market or the most important tourist attractions of Luang Prabang.
The manager Mr Tom is a very good host and organized everything for us to have a wonderful stay in Luang Prabang.
Breakfast is delicious with fresh fruit platter, fruit smoothies and a dish you can choose from.
All in all a very lovely, not very crowded hotel - a good address to go to if you look for comfort and privacy.
Thank you very much!
It’s a beautiful new boutique hotel/ B&B and the rooms and bathrooms are stunning - designed so well. Lovely spacious balconies and delicious menu choices for breakfast. The staff are very nice and do their best to try and accommodate all requests as they are new there were some minor issues. The General Manager really went out of his way to help me.
I would love to see a more communal table breakfast option available for solo travellers that wish to meet people.
If back in Luang Prabang, I will stay there again.
This was a great little hotel choice to stay in at Luang Prabang. It has very nice rooms and a well maintained pool in it. Location wise, it is close to the night markets, cafes and restaurants. They are within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance away. My stay was made even better by Khun, the hotel manager and his staff who were excellent and friendly in arranging trips and transport to the railway station! Breakfast was excellent and they is a variety of choices you can have for it.
This is a cute little place right next to the palace and the night market. Rooms are clean and comfy. This is in the old city part of Luang Prabang, so don't expect a modern hotel. In fact, it had a nice travel lodge old-world charm to it. So if you come with the right attitude, and appreciate the budget-friendly rates, you'll really enjoy the fact that it's right in the middle of all the action, and yet quiet enough to give you some rest in between all the sightseeing.
great hotel with quiet area and location close to the center and restaurants, the swimming pool was great and refreshing after the walks back to the hotel, the room was very clean and fully equipped with everything you need and the staff here are very helpful and friendly they will arrange and provide everything you need they will try to make your stay feel most comfortable and wonderful. If you come to Luang Prabang, this will be a great choice for your vacation
Very
Location very good
Welcome of staff very professional , sympathic and efficient.
Staff with a very good English speaking
Room full of very beautiful wood, very nicely designed and very comfortable.
Breakfast and restaurant place very incredible overtopping Mekong river
Lovely shadowed gardens along Mekong very under-used. Unfortunately as this is the best place in Luang Prabang to see the junks passing along.
I recommend to enjoy this hotel. Very soon.
Location was only a short walk from the centre one way and the Mekong River the other. Night market around the corner and morning vegetable market outside the front of hotel. The staff, Tom and his female helpers were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ample and taken under the umbrellas in the garden. The Luang Prabang night food and drink market was only a 5 minute walk away. BeerLao on draft in pleasant surroundings with friends is most enjoyable.
Elephant Boutique Hotel is our favourite choice of place to stay in Luang Prabang. It’s very clean and has great showers. Breakfast is good too. Your hosts Rose and Huan are very inviting and go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. They are very helpful in suggesting tours etc and can book them directly from the hotel. The street markets are in walking distance and you are so close to everything but you don’t hear any noise from your room.
Love the decor and cozy atmosphere of the hotel. There were both a ceiling fan and AC available to cool the room. Wifi is secure and charging ports were available next to the bed. Breakfast is made to order and the receptionist, Chang, was very helpful and cheerful. She assisted with my suitcase to the room, offered me a welcome drink while explaining the attractions of Luang Prabang, and will cheerfully greet me whenever she sees me.
Big and clean room, AC working perfectly, quiet neighbourhood and located in the city center. The river is just in front of the hotel, they have laundry service and you can rent a motorbike also. The breakfast is good, try the banana pancakes ! The manager of the hotel is also really nice, he gave us good information about the things to see and do in Luang Prabang and around. I highly recommend !
The most welcoming of my stays in Luang Prabang. The owner is from the Philippines and he was a pretty low key and nice guy. Offered me and my friend a really cheap motorbike rental. Didn't even require a passport, but I think that's unusual and not to be expected all the time. The breakfast was great and the space, despite being small, encouraged people to talk to each other, which was lovely.
It's a very basic but lovely and quiet accommodation just outside the city center of Luang Prabang. You can reach the Market area in less than 10 minutes, as well as many other restaurants. I rented a scooter to reach the destinations that were further away, which made it even more convenient. The staff is absolutely fantastic, kind and welcoming.
Baan Pila was an absolute gem! All of the staff were so sweet and attentive with excellent recommendations to explore in Luang Prabang. We stayed in the Mango room which was beautiful and so comfortable! We celebrated a birthday during our stay and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay so special! Truly a lovely place to stay!
Good place to enjoy Luang Prabang.
+ The lovely staff, they helped us hire the transport to meet the wonderful Luang Prabang. Clean hotel, very nice and with a good location. Close to everything and quiet atmosphere. Breakfast to choose from freshly made to order, accompanied by coffee, juice and fruit. We recommend it 100%.
The location was right across from the Mekong River which added a nice touch to our daily breakfast which was delicious and generous. The staff members were gracious, friendly, helpful and attentive. Luang Prabang is a great destination and this hotel did not disappoint.
Excellent Very clean and comfortabe
Very good hotel, great location, comfortable room, very good breakfast. The staff is very friendly and attentive. He arranged me for a tour in Luang Prabang and arranged train tickets for me. wifi is good
The property is very eclectic. The bohemian use of mixed fabric and colours is interesting. The food at the restaurant is 5 star. The staff are the best part about this place. Each one was a delight to interact with.
Room is big and clean. location is very near the morning alms, 2mins walk. and near temple. staff is very friendly and helpful. recommend to stay in Luang Prabang.
The hotel room was clean and nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is just perfect for a walk around the center of Luang Prabang city.
