Breakfast is buffet style, foods are ok
But I paid for the dinner in Japanese style. But the foods are not good.

Don't bother booking a hotel stay.
Don't bother booking a hotel stay. Hotels are old. and facilities show their age. Just visit as a day trip (unless you intend to go to a geothermal park). A traveller who has been to both Lake Toya and Lake Shikotsu says the latter is more worth the trouble getting there. Much-vaunted nightly fireworks happen only at end April. Not worth a visit at any other time in April.
Note: if you miss the local bus when arriving at the Toya Station, wait for the next one although that could mean up to a 40-minute wait (depending on when the bus had left after you arrive). Go across the road to eat at a local cafe while you wait for the next bus. (Look for the one that serves yummy karaage chicken. There's a queue inside, so that's your cue.) NOT worth paying to got to Kohan Tei by taxi (around 22,500 yen or USD145). Reason: check-in is strictly at 3pm. So, you might as well save that cab fare with a nice lunch, and then some.

Didn’t like it in late February.
Didn’t like it in late February. The only thing to do is go to the onsen, some of the hotels will grant you access for a small fee if you’re not staying there.
There is a boat tour (looks like a princess castle, sort of weird), pricey and so so boring, they don’t even go all around the lake and it doesn’t stop for you to step on the islands.
Overall, very sad town in February.

A must visit to Mount Usu taking the cable car and walking along the Ropeway is scenic.
A short drive of about 10 minutes from Lake Toya there is a Little Farm that serves very good ice cream, coffee and pizza. Children loves the goats in this farm land.

Beautiful and scenic but you are not allowed to swim in the lake because it is a Unesco site. I was unable to Google this info so I'm sharing it here. It is 90 degrees here today so that sucks. They don't mind you dipping your feet but there are no swimming beaches. You can get wet if you are boating or on SUPboard. I probably would’ve toured another part of the country if I knew I couldn’t swim in the lake in the middle of an extremely hot summer. the south of like Toya is filled with Asian tourists. We enjoyed the quiet north side.

Exceptional room to wake up in every morning, with a full view of Lake Toya. Soaking in the hot bath in the room and enjoying the fireworks nightly is indeed a pleasure. Service staff are helpful and polite, and the meals are sumptuous. Indeed a memorable experience.
all resorts in the area are hard to access if there is no direct shuttle bus / public bus times do not match with your arrival time. easiest way to get to hotel is via taxi. At Toya station you call a number at the taxi stand to get a taxi.
onsens were really comfortable and nice to use. quite clean too.
rooms are very spacious.
buffet for dinner and breakfast included in the price we booked for ~$230 a night is quite a steal. food selection was vast. not much seafood was available, only sashimi from memory.
The hotel and our room were absolutely beautiful! The room was mind-blowing compared to the other rooms we stayed at in Japan (much bigger than usual) and was very thoughtfully-designed. The service was fantastic as well (including for us English-speakers). The bathtub on the balcony was a very fun feature, and the view from our room (and every room, it seems) was incredible. I had read in reviews that the food wasn't very good, but the breakfasts we had there were delicious!! (we didn't try the dinner)
The owner was waiting for us at the exact time we told him we'll arrive. We got sweets and discount tickets to onsen. I was amazed by that onsen hotel, Infinity rooftop pool, it was fantastic. We had a car, the lake and shops are in a 3 min drive. The hotel is quite old, but everything was good. Clean bed sheets, warm, bright, no smoke smell in the room, silent at night. We were travelling with a 1 year-old toddler, it was safe for her too. There is a loft in the room, we did not use it.
This hotel is new, modern, clean and comfy! In room personal onsen with stunning view from the balcony. Excellent service from all staff.
Just to keep in mind that dinner included is buffet dinner rather than kaiseki dinner usually other onsen hotels offer, but regardless, the food at the buffet (dinner and breakfast) was so good and tasty!
Definitely recommend this hotel and hope to come back in the future!
Very gracious, sweet, and kind host, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Enjoyed our breakfast and the variety every morning. Nice spacious house overlooking Lake Toya. Location is very peaceful, about 20 min from Rusutsu. We were able to send our skis in advance to the house and she helped us in shipping our skis back home!
Affordable, comfortable, cosy and nice place to stay for a day or two. Very clean shower rooms and toilets. Very near to Lake Toya and the fireworks. There are convenience stores nearby. The owner Keiko-san also recommended bus to Sapporo with its time table. Overall great stay.
The open air onsen was really nice! They give you Yukatas to wear, and the traditional style hotel was really something we wanted to experience, which we got to here! The staff was also all really nice, and some also spoke english really well!
The hotel is right on Lake Toya and we had a spectacular view from our fourth floor window. I wish there had been an accessible balcony. Also the location in central Toyako Onsen made it easy to walk to dinner the nights that we were there.
We loved the location, right across the street from a park and Lake Toya. Parking is on the property. Owner was easy to work with when we fumbled with letting her know our arrival time. The sleeping area is large and upstairs.
This hotel is not in the main tourist area near Lake Toya. Room was extremely spacious, with a beautiful view of Lake Toya. There were ample facilities in the room. The spa was beautiful.
The first row with a view of Lake Toya, with Chinese-speaking service staff. Breakfast and dinner are very rich for one hotel and two meals. I am very satisfied with my second stay.
Spacious. And the view from my room is gorgeous, the stunning Lake Toya. Hotel is close to the Toyako Onsen bus terminal. The front desk staff is also super polite.
