It is a very unique place and hotel. There is nothing similar I have seen before. It is expensive but worth the money. I would definitely come back just to enjoy the views from the lobby and drink coffee or nice whiskey. Breakfast was also great.

The location felt a bit remote and quiet, which we loved – and it was a great base for exploring the peninsula. There are a lot of cool things to explore nearby – the seal beach, black sand beaches, Kirkjufell, a horse farm, a geothermal swimming pool, etc. The staff was very friendly and made up for the hotel feeling slightly isolated with their warm welcome. The dinner seemed like a nice home-cooked meal, which was especially nice after a week of road sandwiches and restaurant food. Plus, a cute cat greets you at the door to reception. The room was very clean and nicely decorated with photos and the beds were comfortable.

The view was great. Could see Kirkjufell from the balcony. Property was very clean. Nice to have some kitchen tableware and minimal cooking items. It was just a minute's walk from a grocery store too, so that was nice.

This is a hidden gem - I would come back to the Snafellsness peninsula just to stay in this hotel again. The view all around is breathtaking - you have it all - the glacier, the magnificent mountains and a waterfall, lava fields and the black rocky beaches hidden behind pink sand dunes. Do not miss the hike behind the hotel and do it before 10am to have a complete solitude from tourists. Restauarnt and bar are top notch.
Super location with incredible views in all directions. This was our first night in Iceland. Bar and restaurant were great and dinner was very nice. Staff was very engaging. Peter our waiter kept us laughing and made for a great evening. The northern lights were present that night and we literally just walked a few hundred yards from the Hotel to view them. Room was a bit warm and as we've learned during the rest of our trip we now turn off all the heat when we arrive. We like to sleep in colder temps.
The property was absolutely stunning. A beautifully appointed hotel and spectacular staff. I was given a free upgrade to a deluxe room and could not have been happier. I came for my birthday and the chef even made me a special breakfast just to celebrate. Amazing experience all around and they even do a northern lights wake up. I highly recommend this place and look forward to the day I can come back.
Unsurpassed, simply stunning location - I'll never forget walking out the hotel door after dinner at 11pm and going for a two hour walk along one of the paths next to the property. Our room was newly built - loved that we had a little sitting area with big screen TV and lots of amenities. Beautifully designed - everything from faucets to linens. The restaurant was also first rate.
Isolated and luxurious hotel interior, decorated like a hunting lodge. Helpful, friendly staff. I had an excellent meal and a comfortable room with a beautiful view of the nearby church. I doubt there's a bad view from any room in this hotel. When the blinds were closed it was the darkest of any room I stayed in while in Iceland. I slept very well, and didn't want to leave!
A lonely place with an excellent restaurant and a historical ambience, good for exploring Snaefellsnes and the peninsula. Walking, hiking, a beautiful waterfall just across the valley, visible from the lounge, the ocean nearby, good for a trip watching northern lights and generally a very quiet and comfortable resting place. Very helpful staff.
The hotel was very well equipped and clean. The hotel staff was helpful and the breakfast was very tasty. But the best thing about the whole hotel is its location on the edge of the lava field next to the iconic black church. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was also excellent.
The hotel is simply lovely - set in a remote area of Iceland with fantastic views. The parking area is ample and the entranceway is level. The cold continental breakfast and fresh coffee made for a delicious start to our departure. Room 1 and it’s bathroom were both spacious.
It was an excellent place to stay. The location, staff, restaurant were all top notch and well above expectation. I would go back any time of the year. The hotel was very cozy and friendly. You have to go to the restaurant on site and the cocktails were tasty as well.
This small hotel is in a beautiful location, with great coastal walking just outside the door. We particularly enjoyed the bird watching. The staff are lovely, the lounge areas most welcoming, and our room was delightful, with a view of the waterfall.
