Lovely hotel, currently undergoing some renovations but this wasn't an issue.

This place came highly recommended and we were looking forward to our stay. So we were extremely disappointed to turn up after a 5 hour drive through snow and ice and not be able to get into the building due to all the snow. The place was in a lovely location but was no physical way we could get in. Messaged the contact saying it was impossible for us to get in and asking for a refund but I am disappointed to say we have had no response.

The owner was very kind and helpful. The room was cozy and clean. Our room had a sea view. The breakfast was excellent. I appreciate the observation tower. We even saw the aurora borealis. I liked the relaxation zone the most. There was a sauna, massage chair, hot tub, darts, ping-pong. We will be happy to come back here. We loved this place.

Nice place to stay while visiting sites in North Iceland.
Nice place to stay while visiting sites in North Iceland. We were able to see the Northern lights while there in early October, but our lodging was slightly out of the main city lights. Nice restaurants and easy to walk around. Botanical garden was a very nice place.

Great place for a day trip, or two.
Great place for a day trip, or two. Limited eating options (compared to Reykjavik). The lagoons (Forest lagoon / Myvatn) are worth a visit. There are of course also some nearby waterfalls. There's a fantastic petting zoo which is definitely not to be missed.

Nice small city . Surprisingly bug infested in late summer. Wonderful sights nearby. Very few free parking lots . Dettifoss was awe inspiring. There are steam venting sites worth visiting. There are crevasses separating American and European plates you can walk across caves and crevasses where Game of Thrones was filmed . Restaurant 23 is a great fish restaurant

Akureyri is a beautiful little town in N. Iceland.
Akureyri is a beautiful little town in N. Iceland. Super picturesque, at the base of a fjord. We booked a whale watching tour with Keli Sea Tours and saw humpback whales.
Everything is walkable and there are some great restaurants, especially Strikið, where I had the best piece of salmon I have ever eaten.
The botanical garden is free and beautiful. The kids loved the little Christmas house on the edge of town.
If you are driving the ring road, you must stop here!

We was looking for local food but no one. we could find only pizza, burger, fried chicken restaurant. And we was found food truck which owner is very rude, we not recommend there but anyway bakery at the corner was very good.
Robert was friendly and helpful. He recommended restaurant we had on our radar. The hotel is across from the downtown which was perfect as you have easy access but feel remote with incredible views. The views! Wow. We were lucky with a beautiful spring day and enjoyed relaxing in the hot tubs with fun drinks from the bar. Breakfast was included and nice. Our rooms were clean with everything we needed including robes.
Friendly, great food, wonderful hospitality and beautiful location. 10 min to downtown Akureyri and 50 min to Godafoss. We were right on the water, clean and cozy rooms, nice hot tub and great restaurant. Wonderful breakfast in the morning with fruits, veggies, breads, jams, pancakes with Nutella, and amazing coffee and teas. We loved our stay there. Great for families. Wish we booked 2 nights.
This is such a lovely place. I had the room on the upper floor with a view to Akureyri. That was simply perfect. The room was well equipped (incl. Netflix), bathroom had a good size. Breakfast offered everything I need. Staff was very nice. All recommendations for restaurants were good. If I ever come back to the Akureri area I will stay again in this nice Hotel!
My room was very nice and comfortable. Hotel was clean and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the botanical gardens. The food at the restaurant was very good. I would like to mention that the staff were very helpful.
Akureyri is a nice place to visit and you can take a day trip to Grimsey Island.
Great location with restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Very nice and fun inside with parking right in front. We had the smallest rooms and we managed fine especially since the bathrooms are big and have everything you need. Breakfast was very good at the sister property next door.
Because of Covid we have been given another room in Hotel Akureyri Dynheimar. Because the room was to small for our luggage (inkl. stuff to eat) we asked for a bigger room. Luckily we got an apartment and had a very nice experience there. Thank you so much for your flexibility!
The apartment is well located - a few steps away from a parking lot, beside several restaurants and a very good cafe. It's in the city centre of Akureyri. The place is modern and is quite spacious.
As a side comment, the hallway towards the apartments is very cozy.
This hotel is in a decent location in Akureyri, it's close to a nice little bookshop that sells coffee, as well as a few other cafes and restaurants, and it's clean and quiet. I stayed over New Year's and even then there wasn't a lot of noise. A fine place to stay.
Location perfect, just a short walk into town to grab an evening meal and breakfast in the morning.
The hotel and room were spotless and the facilities were great, especially the bathroom. The hotel was quirky and had a romantic feel.
The hotel is placed on the hill viewing directly to the Fjord of Akureyri.
The rooms has very big windows and you can view the planes landing and leaving on the airport.
The breakfast was very good and a lot of parking spaces
Spacious apartment, located in the center of Akureyri, close to restaurants for dinner and breakfast. Parking on the street free between 4pm-10am; so rather convenient for 1-night stay. Everything is perfect!
Small room, could be cleaner, there was long black hair in the bathroom and corners of the room, also a lot of flies. Breakfast was in the restaurant area, good, but again a lot of flies landing on the food.
Delicious breakfast with a lot of choices. Modern room with good shower and bed. Very nice restaurant. It was one of the best diners we had in Iceland. Cozy bar with fireplace.
Conveniently located in the area full of shops and restaurants. Nice room, not very big but definitely ok for a short stay. Simple but good breakfast. Everything ok!
The room was very average, on the small side. Breakfast was a fine continental breakfast. The hotel is in the center of town, close to restaurants and stores.
