What i liked best about Kannur is the Mridanga Saileswari temple which is about 45 kms away from Kannur .
The temple deity is supposed to be very powerful & whatever you pray for with an offering of a neyvilakku ( ghee lamp) placed at the shrine of the deity, is granted.
Former DGP of Kerala Dr.Jacob has a story which is on YouTube where he recalls three attempts by thieves to steal the panchaloha idol of the deity & all three attempts fail & the thieves are forced to abandon their attempt!.

Kannur is not only a beautiful and historic town to visit, it is easily accessible from Coorg and Wayanad. If your destination is any of these places, the best way is to arrive at Kannur airport, stay in a nice hotel like Nesma Palace near the airport, and proceed to your chosen location when the time is right.

I interacted with a lot of people including strangers and every one of them was most friendly and helpful.
Visited a beautiful well preserved fort in Thallassery.
The food portions served at restaurants is too much. If you are not a big eater, ask for smaller portions to avoid wastage. Food is great. Enjoyed the tea and coffee and the Thalassery biriyani is too good. Plenty of seafood options.

This is a port city with very interesting sight seeing options. It was a midway halt for me while I was driving over to Mangalore. The fish food restaurants were great but most of these were closed during the day time due to Ramzan during my visit. They were open for evening dinner only and the experience was memorable.
The Rooms are Ok. The Bar, Restaurant, Food served was the Worst, I ever had. The Bar and Restaurant Attenders/Suppliers were absolutely Horrible. Their Behaviour especially one Guy Mr. Nithin was so rude, rustic, undiplomatic in behaviour. Its really pathetic to see such Guys being employed in a Hospitality industry. The Food served was so Horrible, We had Gastritis and Dysentery for a Week. Except Ample Parking, Theres nothing good there worth mentioning. Its Waste of Money not worth spending here.
The location is awesome. It's next to a beach, quiet and serene. The caretaker Mr Prince is very friendly and helpful in guiding and arranging local sightseeing. Food is awesome with vegetarian and non vegetarian choices. Great place for having joyful moments with family or group of friends. The hotel staff Nitin and Acchu are extremely helpful. They do things from the heart. The beach is like a private beach which is not commercialised. It has a scenic beauty . Excellent place to unwind and relax.
The place was serene, very close to the sea, overlooking the small beach. A stunning huge beach was a five minute walk away. The Owner and his staff were wonderful, attentive and kind. The food excellent. We came to rest and we could not have come to a better place. Lulled to sleep each night by the sound of the waves. We stayed an extra day, not wanting to leave. On keeping our transport was arranged by the Hotel and we received plentiful good advice from the owner. A beautiful relaxing break.
The location is awesome in front of the beach and 24/7 access. You can relax from the sitting area or on the beach. simply amazing.
Host were amazing.
Food is available at their kitchen per request.
We were allotted another property of Manashore as was told the booker rooms are tiny and the booked property was not in use for others as well.
Excellent place to stay in Kannur with easy access to the nearby beaches! Simple clean rooms with no frills. Best part of stay is the home cooked food by Bipin which are to die for. Nearby Beaches are clean and secluded and ideal for a quiet time off.
Had a beautiful experience at Sanam beach house. The owner guided us to reach at the location and made us feel like home at the guest house. All basic facilities were available and we felt like home. Will definitely stay here on our next Kannur trip.
Food in the hotel restaurant was excellent quality and taste.Special thanks to all of the restaurant staff who were very professional and courteous, they really looked after us . Our rooms were comfortable and clean.
Excellent stay! The property is very well maintained. It's as shown in the pictures, comfortable for families to stay.Kids had a great time in the play area. Beach being at a walkable distance is a plus point.
The staff at this hotel is tremendous. They are well behaved. The facility is just 3 minutes walk from the Railway station and the public transport is always available. The food at this hotel is also good.
It was a nice stay, rooms were clean and spacious.. Staff were very friendly and cooperative. No disturbance of the sea but with in walkable distance from the beach. Really enjoyed the stay.
The service was always with a smile. I especially like South Indian breakfast so it was very much to my liking. I was helped to find a moto-taxi to wherever I needed to go.
The hotel has ample parking space.
The rooms were pretty clean
The ambiance of the hotel was nice
The staff is courteous.
