The room was warm and clean, bed was comfortable.
The shower had good pressure and water was hot.
Our host advised the room had been recently refurbished and asked if improvements were needed. We advised that a towel rail in the bathroom was needed, as there was nowhere to hang a towel.

It was a lovely place in a fantastic location, the host, Caroline was wonderful and there was some food left for us which was nice. The bedrooms are on the other side of the unit from the main house and are private with a nice little private patio for each bedroom.

Fabulous quiet cottage with original features and a view to die for. The sunsets were incredible. Unfortunately the name has been changed and no one in the area knows the new name so it took ages to find it. The new owners need to put a name on the gate.

A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby.
A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby. Parking could be an issue in hi-season, There are scenic boat trips around the islands and can be booked at the hotel. Off-season is quieter but no live music.

Easy access to tourist options.
Easy access to tourist options. Cliffs of Kerry are on private property on the outskirts of Portmagee and entry cost was 5 Euros per person - good views and a bit of a climb from the car park.
The Skellings chocolate shop was great. You can try many samples of different types of chocolate before buying.
Many people travel to Portmagee for the 45 minute boat trip (one way) and landing on Skellig Michael. Landing is weather dependant - and not guaranteed. Puffins are adorable and plentiful. Guide at top of the steep 600+ steps climb up to the beehive huts was informative. Toilet facilities only at the arrival point to the island.
Brayhead Tower is over the bridge on Valentia Island with fabulous views out to sea towards the Skelligs and cliffs of Kerry. Car park is paid by a 2 Euro coin only. It is a LONG walk to the tower.
Tetrapod trackway is free, difficult to see the tracks but fabulous views. The slate works are close to the Tetrapod trackway but visitor information is limited.
We ate both nights outside at "The Fishermans Bar & restaurant" in Portmagee. Service is good and friendly. They serve fresh fish caught that day and it was delicious.
The smalll supermarket is not well stocked with pre-filled rolls/sandwiches and appears to have limited supplies - suggest you shop at Cahersiveen or Sneem if you are self catering.

Portmagee is a charming village, great for seafood in a comfortable setting. Good location to visit nearby areas such as Valentia and Knightstown. Brilliant whiskey tasting experience available in Portmagee Whiskey.
Very friendly hosts. Property looks like it is brand new. Very nice touches throughout. Bed was comfortable. There was even a small kitchenette with a small table and two barstools for eating. The hosts left some breakfast items which was lovely. The place was quiet. It was raining the whole time we were there so hard to comment on the views, although they appeared to be spacious and beautiful - from what we could see through the rain and clouds. It’s a 2-3 minute drive to downtown. Very close to Skellig Michael Tours and Kerry Cliffs.
One night stay in the apartment. Great location, close to the Kerry Cliffs. Portmagee within a few minutes drive. Very handy if you want to discover Valentia Island. Overall a quiet, peaceful place with an on-site parking spots. The rooms are comfortable, an open plan kitchen featured with all appliances, including a dishwasher. Bonus points for the Chromecast! It's a pity our schedule allowed for only a short stay, the place and it's surroundings have a lot to offer.
Perfect accommodation only 5 minutes drive from Portmagee & the bridge to beautiful Valentia Island, 10 minutes from Cahirciveen. Compact accommodation perfect for 2, we had a studio apartment. It's amazing how much they have fit into these studios. Everything you could possibly need , even a full size cooker. Comfortable bed, nice warm room, plenty of hot water. Paula was in touch each day to offer recommendations, such a nice touch.
Met by Ger, extremely friendly and honest; able to give plenty of information on local amenities.
House although very old has all the features needed (electric shower, oil fired heating, WiFi, Netflix etc etc). House is 1 min walk to local pubs and restaurants, across the road from the village post office and shop and only a 5 min walk from Portmagee Whiskey
Location is perfect for exploring this region of kerry
Pete and Maureen have a wonderful place just outside of Portmagee! It is quiet, clean, and oh what an exceptional setting, right smack on the bay facing Valentia Island. Our twin room, though on the smaller side, was very comfortable.and what a gourmet breakfast they offer complete with otters, hares, and water birds in view. We loved this place and and it’s owners and so will you!
We chose the location rather randomly but it turned out to be very convenient to the things we wanted to see and do. It's about 2 km from Portmagee, and the Cliffs of Kerry attraction is walking distance. It was very quiet. It was nice that a bit of breakfast is provided: we got - for 2 of us - 4 pieces of bread, 2 eggs, some butter and jam, as well as tea and biscuits.
Great location in Portmagee. Had a spacious room with two windows overlooking the harbour and island opposite. Clean and comfortable beds.
Handy for boat trips to the Skelligs. Great breakfast choices in the morning. Food in restaurant superb.
Free parking to be had near the church, a short walk away.
Everything! Location across the street from boat piers and near restaurants was extremely convenient. Wifi worked well throughout the house, hot water in showers and the bed was comfortable. Staff introduction at the house was informative. We wish we could have stayed longer! 10/10
Skellig View B&B is in a beautiful area across from the Kerry Cliffs and near Portmagee. The apartment was clean, comfortable and quiet. The very nice host provided eggs, bread, cheese, milk, coffee and tea.
She also gave us tickets to view the spectacular cliffs.
Beautiful area-watched a glorious sunrise with sheep 🐑 bleating in the background! Exactly what I wanted to see. Located very close to Cliffs of Kerry and Portmagee-the launch point for our visit to Skellig Michael. It was a highlight of our 10 day visit.
Located very close to the nice town of Portmagee. We had a very nice and warm welcome.
The rooms are very clean and very typical as in a sea cottage.
We had a perfect continental breakfast with self made granola bars and scones.
The hotel is perfectly located across the Portmagee marina. It has a quaint atmosphere. The staff was very friendly. The next door restaurant very convenient and the food was good. The room was spacious and bathroom was great.
Fantastic accommodation to stay near Portmagee and Valentia Island. Easy to find and parking available. Friendly owner who gave us useful advice about the area. Clean room and toilet. Nice views from the room window.
The location can’t be beat….beautiful waterfront spot just a few doors from the fun local pub. Fantastic base for Skellig Ring touring! Views all around you, including nearby Kerry Cliffs.
Really spacious and comfortable, with all the facilities you could need. The view was great too. Portmagee, Valentia and the whole amazing area near at hand.
