Hotel Maxim, hotel in Božava

Hotel Maxim features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Božava. The accommodation provides evening entertainment and free WiFi.

Breakfast and dinner were good, but for a 4* hotel they could have at least had a coffee machine. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the receptionists. The location is nice next to the sea, but we were woken up by the noise of the catamaran every morning at 5:50, and there was no peace in the evening, due to the proximity of the marina and guests on sailboats and in nearby restaurants. But we could watch the sunrise from the balcony.

Linda found us in a local restaurant and came and introduced herself, she was very welcoming! She gave us great tips on where to eat and get cash exchanged. Her help made all the difference as this is a relatively remote island. The apartment was comfortable and clean with gorgeous views of the sea and other islands.

Quiet coastal village with harbour on Dugi Otok.

Quiet coastal village with harbour on Dugi Otok. Has 3 reasonable restaurants, 1 shop, 2 hotels and a daily passenger ferry from Zadar. It is only about 2km across the island to sandy Sakarun beach and other nearby places. There is also a daily bus that connects Bozava with Veli Rat and Brbinj that has a car ferry to Zadar. Getting around the island is a bit limiting unless you hire a car on the mainland and bring it over on the ferry.

Dober dan! We had such a wonderful stay in Bozava!

Dober dan! We had such a wonderful stay in Bozava! The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was exceptional, the rooms were nice with a beautiful view of the sea and the village. The beds were very comfortable, clean room and the grounds were very well maintained. The restaurant's in the village were quaint with exceptional menus, food and service. The people in the village were kind and welcoming and we are already planning a return visit. The church service on Sunday was divine. The tour around the island was breathtaking. This visit exceeded all my expectations of my first of many visits to the island of Dugi Otok! Well done Bozava! What a gem!! Magnifico!

This is a rest from the crowds in Zadar.

This is a rest from the crowds in Zadar. The swimming from the quayside is perfect. Its a 1hr walk or 10 min bus to Sakarun beach which is amazing. Lots of trails through the olive groves and around the coast to enjoy. The bigger supermarket has much better prices than the smaller one. The bar on the corner also seemed better value than the other (great pizzas). There is a Roman sarcophagus in the fields above the village. Ask the postman to show you as its his farm (he sells cheese and olive oil at the harbour on some eves too).

Small village on the coast, very nice for those who are looking for quiet holidays. Unfortunately pituresque hiking path from the church Mala gospa on the hill above Božava to the vilage Dragove it's overgrown and badly marked.

Božava is like a paradise, super beautiful and the people are so kind. This is a special place, and we hope that other travelers can enjoy and respect the kind community and extremely clean sea! Božava, change nothing!! We feel so lucky to have visited this place. Our favorite place to hang out is the Sonik supermarket, best prices for food chill place to hang out. Transport is easy is if you have feet that you can walk with. Great activity for young couples is to hang out and watch the sunset at Sonik.
