Where to start? This is one of our new favorite hotels in the world. We had a room with a fireplace, and the wonderful staff were kind enough to help us light it. This means we spent every evening cozied up by a fire, in a small Greek mountain village. What a dream. The food was some of the best we’ve had in all our travels. The breakfast is the stuff of dreams—huge variety, with both sweet and savory options, and delicious cappuccinos made to order. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant two nights, and each meal was divine. This was the perfect Greek mountain retreat, and we would love to come back and stay again someday!

The owner was so nice and made sure we’re happy and comfortable, he also helped us plan our trip in the area.
Breakfast was nice and fresh, there is a lovely outside sitting garden.
Location is right a the village heart and all the restaurants and shops are just 2 steps away.
We would love to stay here again 😊

I liked:
I liked:
The traditional house architecture that has been somehow preserved and gives a unique character to the entire village.
The streams and creeks inside and around the village.
The main square with the beautiful large platanus-sycamore trees.
The views of the Pagasitikos bay from the village.
The view of the thickly wooded forests of chestnuts and walnuts.
Portaria and Makrynitsa and Pelion in general are close to what my idea of paradise is!

I really do not understand why people are going there.
It is a very small village on the top of a mountain near Volos.Ok, the view is very nice especially during night, but You need to climb the mounting by car and you need 30-40 minutes for 9 km.When you arrive there, you will find many hotels, 8-10 restaurants, 3-4 souvenir shop, one petrol station, one pharmacy and nothing else.

Portaria is a really nice place that combines traditional restaurants with friendly people and a breath taking scenery in the mountains with a panoramic view of Volos. The trail of Centaurs is a must,as well as tasting the traditional sweets of the women's co-op.

All villages from Pelion are extremely interesting and with a local air. The view is just unbelievable. A great rustic experience which a real urban, busy traveler must have. The food, the nature, the panorama, every and each place are just mind blowing. Pelion is not the tourist oriented place, but this makes it even more desirable. So, if you choose Greece and you might need some peace of soul, this is the place.

We stayed at gastronomy hotel Kritsa in front of a 1000 years old Plane tree. The hotel shares a big yard together with 2-3 other small hotels covered by huge Plane trees. It's a magnificent place .
We had an amazing stay at Archontiko Naoumidi. It's a beautiful hotel with original details. Our room was very comfortable with a great view and many windows to open, therefore we had a good sleep. What we liked most about the hotel was the breakfast (many choices, all fresh and homemade) and the pool that has a nice relaxing area. The location is also perfect in Portaria, a cute village, and it's close to all the taverns and ships that Portaria has to offer. We will definitely come back if we can :).
The hotel is centered in the middle of the main square of the village and located above the restaurant of the owners. The village itself is conveniently located, and the hotel is right in its center, which is great. The breakfast was amazing - a large buffet of the restaurant's dishes, which has a nice variety and very good quality. The hotel staff were very helpful and helped us to book a COVID-test. Highly recommended.
Absolutely outstanding place! The view is breathtaking, the house is excellent, new and comfortable with classic design and lavish furnitures. There is a perfect parking lot as well. The owner - Marina is the kindest person you can even imagine to be your host - indulging you with variety of homemade breakfast each morning! Ultimately the best place I have ever stayed at when in Greece!
The location is perfect and next to the restaurants and the central square of the village. The stuff was really kind, hospitable and friendly and the room was very clean with modern design.
Rich and delicious breakfast. We definitely recommend this hotel for your stay at Pelion!
Bonus: there is easily accessible public parking area just a few meters away from the accomodation!
Very welcoming and family-friendly hotel, Yannis and his management team is helpful, kind and willing to provide any
advise and information about Pelion and the area. We had great 3 days in Pelion, based on Yannis guidance and Maps. Strongly recommending Montagna Verde hotel as a perfect base for vacation in Pelion .
Old style, like in XX century. House is from 1838.
Nice hosts even if they don't speak much english; breakfast with partly homemade dish.
Beautiful decorations, the view from balcony is amazing.
Parking lot near the building.
Quiet area very close to main square of Portaria with a lot of tavernas and shops.
Portaria is an amazing place definitely worth visiting. The old building of the hotel is great; comfortable, clean and with a beautiful view of the sea and the towns below. The staff are very helpful and polite.
Closeness of hotel to the center of Portaria with its bars and restaurants. The hotel has a car park which is conveniently right in front of the hotel. The owner/staff is very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was great and the woman that prepares it and serves it was the best in this hotel. The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom spacious. The location is very central.
The worst service ever. No A/C in 2021 for a 3star acommodation, this is not acceptable. In the booking platform it is not written anywhere that there is no A/C. Very poor breakfast
An old-fashioned proper traditional hotel in a cool shady square with a 700 year Plane Tree outside and gushing fresh spring water from Mount Pelion, and seriously good food.
Friendly staff willing to guide you throughout your stay in Pelion.
Super cozy (it will be perfect for winter vacation)
Perfect location in the heart of Portaria.
Lovely and helpful staff/proprietors. Delicious home made breakfast buffet. Great convenient location. Parking available close to hotel. Sound-proof windows.
