Breakfast was awesome. The courtyard is lovely. There were beautiful fragrant flowers blooming. The coffee/lattes were great and the staff was so nice. The food served for breakfast was delicious. We loved staying there and wished we could have stayed longer.

Pros: Clean, great food, many options, a lot to see.
Pros: Clean, great food, many options, a lot to see. Good for walking, has small horses and donkeys for transportation. No cars. Everything in walking distance.
Cons: many of the restaurants were not open (March 2024), while their websites said they were. Relevantly pricey. Ugly, monstrous yachts moored at the front of the little harbour. Expect tourists with an attitude - not very friendly.

Hydra is the sort of place where you can quite happily sit...
Hydra is the sort of place where you can quite happily sit at a cafe on the harbour side and do nothing apart from watch the boats and people come and go. It’s such a beautiful harbour. There’s a swimming area at the headland at one end of the harbour, where the rocks have been modelled to provide comfortable sitting and sunbathing, and where the water is an absolutely gorgeous colour. There are taxi boats to beaches further away, tho I didn’t use them.

Hydra is car free, which makes the stay so unique.
Hydra is car free, which makes the stay so unique. Villas and houses climb up from the port connected by narrow alleyway and stairs. Donkeys to haul your luggage to your rental if up on the hill. Water taxis to take you to other bays. Very relaxing place to stay at.

Hydra is a quiet and well preserved town.
Hydra is a quiet and well preserved town. It is stunningly beautiful. I loved seeing the boats and I loved swimming off the rocky beaches. I could definitely spend more time there. It's a perfect place to relax and unwind.
I loved the location of the Nesea apartments, after visiting I would not want to be any closer to the port. This apartment was one street back from the water. It was quiet but also super close to everything. The breakfast took place at a restaurant near the water. It was wonderful and 100% worth including in our stay. Evi was super helpful and only a text or email away. I would stay here again if I get lucky enough to return to Hydra. We did 10 days in Greece and this was my favorite location.
The guesthous is like 7min walking away from the harbour, kind of at the edge of the town, so it’s location is quietBig room! Nice view from the terraces. Water kettle and refrigerator in the room. The shower is seperated from the toilet with a wall, so the bathroom doesn‘t get completely wet like usually in greece. The water is very hot. The owner was very nice and already waited for us. As we forgot our toothpaste the owner was helpful in providing us with a small toothpastetube.
This hotel was absolutely breathtaking. The room was amazing with a water view and our terrace. The staff was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the weather was gorgeous while we were there. We felt like royalty at this resort. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating to whatever we needed. I chose to include breakfast with our stay, and I believe this is the best decision I could have made outside of extending our stay by another day. :)
Stunning boutique luxury hotel reachable only by boat on the beautiful island of Hydra. Attentive staff, beautiful grounds and a fabulous taverna style restaurant with sunset views to die for! There is a water taxi shuttle every half an hour that will take you to the main port town that runs until late evening, where times extend to every hour instead of every half hour. Some of the most beautiful views I've ever seen.
The small hotel is situated in a very quiet area but in center of Hydra. Hilda, the owner was very helpful, and gave us a lot of information about the island. We had a lovely, spacious suite with a balcony overlooking the busy street - donkeys doing their daily work. We enjoyed the lovely homemade breakfast each morning on the veranda. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to stay at this hotel!!
Maria the receptionist was amazing, superfriendly helpful and made aure all our needs where met. The garden was a beautiful and didn't feel like a hotel garden but the feel of a typical Greek home garden. Breakfast again tasty, simple and most of the products where homemade. Our room had a balcony wh8ch was fantastic with beautiful views of the sea the night sky and the city of Hydra. My son and I had a wonderful time.
Hydra Hotel is not really a hotel. I would say it’s more like a bed and breakfast. Only 6 rooms. Beautiful views from our room ( sea view master suite). Bedroom was comfortable, as was the living room. Bathroom and kitchen definitely in need of an update. Breakfast was ok- espresso / cappuccino
not included ( extra charge)
Overall, I found the hotel to be expensive, considering the amenities.
This hotel is an institution, an old sponge factory turned into a hotel. No wonder it won a European Heritage Award 20 years ago. Some may judge some of the rooms a bit small or rudimentary, but that is part of the Bratsera adventure. I come here if there’s availability on all my Hydra visits. Friendly and competent staff. Excellent bteakfasts.
The Mistral Hotel is a little gem. Loaded with charm, breakfast on the patio, helpful staff. Our room was small, but adequate as we were not in it much! The beds were comfortable, and there was enough space to move around. We found water in the little refrigerator, which was a bonus. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hydra.
great location!! right in the port, everything we wanted to do was a short walk from the hotel:) also, Dafni was amazing and helped us figure out how to take the sea taxis. super kind and helpful🩵
The courtyard with the lemon tree and plants was a wonderful gathering place with a lovely breeze. It felt like a bit of old world Greece with the wooden ceilings and white stucco with blue pots.
Demetrius was so kind and helpful. The room was compact but comfortable and had all we needed. A lovely little spot a quick walk from the harbour. We loved our stay at the Sidra Hotel Hydra.
The property is a traditional Greek pension. This is not a hotel! It is very old world Greece vacation experience. The room is meant to the left! Go into the city!
