Ray on reception was very welcoming and helpful. I'd had a difficult day and was struggling to find food. He recommended a great takeaway, helped me get it delivered and gave me a plate. He was excellent. Easy to park directly outside. Room was comfortable and warm with hanging space and drawers. Plenty of tea and coffee. Perfect for my one night stay. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

The Pier walk was great and visit to the lifeboat at the end. We also loved 'Beaches' Restaurant and the 'Oyster Kitchen' We loved walking along the coast both ways. Leigh on Sea had some super little independent boutiques; "Ruby's" for one and an amazing boutique called "A Touch Too Wild" where the owner could give Gok Wan a run for his money! Southend is great for walking or there is an open topped bus - we just walked until we found somewhere lovely to stop for a rest; we had "Elevenses at The Oyster Creek Kitchen, then 'put the steps in' browsed the boutiques in Leigh on Sea and then enjoyed great food at an Italian Bistro which served superb food! Our Guest House had its own parking and was convenietly situated beteeen Leigh on Sea and Southend itself. We stated for three nights and feel completely refreshed!

I went just at the start of the Easter break, and it was nice and quiet, I imagine it being a popular summer resort. Good facilities with plenty of eateries. Travelling around Southend was okay, gets busy during rush-hour. Great long walks along the esplanade and the pier. A lot of the shops were closed during close-season.

I lived in Southend for many years, this was a visit to see family and attend a family gathering. The town (I will never call it a city) is a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't go to Southend unless I had a specific reason, it just isn't as welcoming as it used to be and the high street is dead. In the summer, short break with young children who want no more than the beach and this place would be ok. There are some decent restaurants but stay out of the town centre for those.

Going around visiting places. Eating out.

Going around visiting places. Eating out. Great taxi service. Hotel was not so good. Not disabled friendly. Fell in bathroom not built for anyone who is disabled.. Hurt myself quite bad. Screaming in agony. Apart from that. Will not be staying in this hotel again

Southend (bearing in mind our visit was in Winter!)

Southend (bearing in mind our visit was in Winter!) is actually really nice. We didn't expect much (we expected Morecambe, but got Southport!). There decent shops; the promenade was clean and open. We ate in The Last Post, but would certainly try other places when we visit again. It is hard to give a fair representation of a town after a very brief visit, but it made a sufficiently good impression for us to want to see more, when the opportunity arises

We have stayed here a few times and it's always for the location and convenience. It's central, close to shops and the family rooms always overlook Adventure Island, which is often our main reason for being in the area. The family rooms are large and spacious, have a king size bed and 2 x single beds. The hotel also offers discounted day passes to Adventure Island which is well worth pre-booking and will save you money than buying directly from park.

Location is great, walk to the bottom of the lovely road and you can catch the train to Leigh On Sea or Southend, or you can walk along the seafront. The road the apartment is situated on is lovely and you are stones throw away from shops and cafes. Host was excellent, great communication. We will be booking again for our next visit

Clean, quiet, comfortable. Staff at the hotel and the pub were all terrific, friendly and efficient. The Last Post faces Southend Central Station and is round the corner from the shops, you couldn't be more central. And then there's the Wetherspoons food available all day downstairs!

I only spent one night here but I can say it is one of the best hotels in the Southend area - and I have stayed at most of them! They had vegan options on the dinner menu and room service, so after a long day at work it was all very easy. Great bathtub, comfy bed etc etc...
