The weather was fantastic and it had lasted I would definitely wanted to stay longer. It was torrential rain the day we left!! It was perfect for a relaxing couple of days, a bit too busy but it was the first weekend of warm weather this year!! You could however find quieter places to sit on the beach and our accommodation was located in peaceful area. Lovely places to eat & drink and a quaint town.

There are lovely independent shops, the is only a coop and Tesco extra, so food quite basic, there are some lovely cafes for lunches,
It is on a hill so you have to be able to manage a small hill, the beach and walk along the beach front is flat, there are good ice cream stalls, I think it would be very busy in summer, we found a few fossils to take home, Monmouth beach is rocky but has some lovely fossils in large rocks to see and the amonite pavement

I have visited Lyme Regis since being a child so it’s very familiar to me.
When you arrive at the property what would make it even clearer is to say if you arrive from the Church End of Monmouth street when you get to the fork in the road park on the left fork unload your car then park as explained. We parked outside the property as told to by a local resident then got a torrent of abuse from a driver who wanted to get past which wasn’t a nice welcome. The lanes are very narrow and we had to stop and wait several times however everything in the property and local area was wonderful. We had a wonderful meal with the most stunning views at Mark Hixs restaurant and really enjoyed the new and old shops and we were blessed with wonderful weather

I was there two nights for a gig on the second night.
I was there two nights for a gig on the second night. I'd been through a couple of times previously and stopped briefly to visit the road end of the seafront, so this was the first proper stay. Unfortunately the weather was wet, windy and cold but I saw enough from just walking around to know that it would be a good (quaint) place to visit for longer and to take in some of the local attractions based around the fossils found in the area.

A lively, bustling quintessential British seaside resort.
A lively, bustling quintessential British seaside resort. Almost too busy on sunny summer days, but lively and fun for everyone. Lots of lovely scrummy places to eat, jolly pubs, many summer events, and the same jolly atmosphere at Christmas time too - lights, carols around the Christmas tree, etc ! But…..Prepare to pay a lot for parking! Or arrive by train to Axminster and catch the bus to the centre of Lyme from the station. Shop at Ammonite Fine Foods for holiday presents - (disclosure …my sister owns it !)
Cobblers Lodge was delightful and I only wish I’d booked for longer.
Tastefully decorated, immaculately clean accommodation with beautiful views. Situated in a quiet area of Lyme Regis but convenient for the town centre. There is a bus stop at the end of the road if the hill back up feels too much. The garden is lovely and secure and my dog thoroughly enjoyed her first trip to the coast.
The owners Lucy and Nikki are just next door and very welcoming and the bottle of wine on arrival was very much appreciated. 🤗
Truly Beautiful hotel. Spotlessly clean with fabulous furnishings. The staff are wonderful, very kind, caring and will help you with any requirements. The breakfasts are outstanding, fresh drinks and pastries and what's more is the cooked breakfasts are truly delicious. Really lovely towels supplied and the beds are so comfy, the best night's sleep my partner and I have had in a long time. If you have never visited here, we highly recommend it. It is best to book with them directly than on Booking.com
Everything really. The b&b is in a lovely rural position about a ten minute drive from Lyme Regis with lovely views across the back garden. Our ensuite room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. There was a good choice at breakfast and we could come and go as we pleased during the day. Sue is a lovely host and it's like staying with friends. We look forward to staying again. Roy & Sue
Excellent position , 5 minutes walk to beaches, gardens, and town facilities, car parking area outside front door, perfectly fitted out two bedroom house , -we were just two people but plenty of room for four, Well fitted kitchen, very comfortable beds, small bathroom ,- but quite adequate, will definitely stay again on our next visit to Lyme Regis. Highly recommended
Sweetest little seaside apartment! Very walkable to all things in Lyme Regis! We walked our 4 year old boys to the ocean to hunt for fossils and see the dinosaur museum. The millside restaraunt is highly recommended as is the brewery! The apartment has a beautiful nautical theme, and the delicious cookies and milk were a great touch!. We couldn't have been happier.
This is our second time here. Location is perfect. Great food for both breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Staff very friendly. Parking at the hotel is £10 for 24 hours but definitely worth it especially in peak season. Added bonus is the swimming pool where you can book a time slot and have the pool to yourself. Will definitely return again when we visit Lyme Regis.
Lovely room with a glorious view, and with plenty of options for eating and drinking. However, most things in Lyme Regis close at 5pm, so only the big chain stores (Tesco for example) are available.
It is also worth noting, that there is also a lot on offer for all diets and requirements in the town.
No complaints about the accomodation itself.
This place is amazing. The place is clean tidy and very homely. Nothing was a bother. It is more like a 5 star hotel in how your treated. The little touch's. Fridge to keep stuff cool for all, the snooker table the DVDs and books.
Stunning food and plenty and lots of choice.
We will be back 100% and would recommend to everyone.
Fantastic location. Rooms are immaculate and spotlessly clean. Our sea view room (#9) was wonderful for views. Attached pub/restaurant served lovely food. Good breakfast menu. The fruit pancakes were delicious. Right in the centre of Lyme Regis shops and a good spot for a seafront walk in either direction.
Beautiful little hotel, great location close to everything! Only a five minute walk to the Dinosaur Fossil museum, all of the lovely little shops and cafe's are on the street down the road and also right next to the beach!
Staff were super nice, breakfast was amazing :) would deffinately stay here again!
It was convenient for the town and beach, although anyone who has visited Lyme Regis knows it’s very hilly and it is quite a challenging walk back to the hotel for anyone with walking or mobility issues.
The car park for the hotel was fine.
The owner was helpful and the breakfast was really good.
Neil and Rosemary run a beautiful hotel. The rooms are furnished to a high standard. The bed was extremely comfortable with Egyptian cotton sheets. Well maintained garden and warm swimming pool. Good location for Lyme Regis and surrounding area. Good breakfasts. The place is faultless.
The warmest of welcomes greets you at this lovely country house hotel Room comfortable (although ours was rather small). Great breakfast but no evening meals available. Lovely grounds for our 4 legged friend and very convenient for the delights of Lyme Regis.
The Royal Lion is a classic traditional hotel in an excellent location in the heart of Lyme Regis near to the seafront. Our rooms were very comfortable and we also appreciated the excellent breakfasts and the availability of parking.
Homely, comfortable and well equipped apartment, a short walk from the centre of Lyme Regis. The hosts have thought of everything to make you feel at home, with flowers on the table and a welcome cream tea.
Excellent and plentiful continental breakfast. Location with parking just 1.5 miles outside Lyme Regis. Lovely walk by river into the town. Welcoming and friendly hosts. Lovely garden to sit in.
Nice hotel conveniently placed for Lyme Regis Town and beach with its own parking available. Its on a steep hill above the town so be aware if you have mobility issues.
The hotel is close to the beach and Lyme Regis centre, all within walking distance. Staf is friendly and helpfull and break-fast is good, although not very extensive.
