This was an ideal work/personal break trip, such a lovely friendly hotel, always happy to help and to make my stay very enjoyable. Food was well cooked, service was always with a smile and the room was clean and comfortable. A good location to explore the area, if you’re a walker then this couldn’t be better. I’d happily return, and I will given the opportunity.

A lovely quiet location ideally situated for walking with many trails to choose from literally just outside the front door. Stunning surroundings and an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle. Relaxing, good standard of food in and around the local area but within easy reach of the main motorways.
The Hood Arms, The Farmers Arms, The Lamb Inn are highly recommended. Walks to the Quantock Hills, Holford Combe and Kilve Beach are lovely walks to consider. Creams teas at the nearby Combe Hotel are also not to be missed.

Holford is a really pretty village and an ideal base to explore the Quantocks. The village has a friendly pub, The Plough Arms which offers good value food and there is a hotel, Combe House where we had afternoon tea in the garden.

The property was very good and the surroundings and furnishings were top quality.
It would be very difficult to get to the hotel without transport as it is about a mile off the main road, down a single track road and very remote. If you like peace and quiet and solitude it would be ideal.

A lovely location in the Quantocks.
Combe House is in a beautiful setting above Holford, with a footpath up the valley right on the doorstep. Particularly nice to enjoy the surroundings at dusk and early morning.
The staff were welcoming and efficient, and the building has a fascinating history and considerable character. It was a pleasure to stay there.
The service was exemplary. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The evening meal was exceptional, so much so that we skipped the full breakfast the next day, limiting ourselves to the continental breakfast which was more than adequate and quite delicious.
The hotel could be found at the end of a narrow road, opening up to a large car park.
Beautiful little country hotel, comfy and spacious rooms and a really cosy lounge for meals and drinks. We brought our one year old cocker spaniel who had a great time and was warmly welcomed by the staff. Brilliant location only a few minutes away from the stunning beach and situated in delightful Somerset hills. Would definitely stay again!
The atmosphere is totally relaxing - i relaxed as soon as I arrived. It really has the feel of a retreat. The walks from the hotel are beautiful. Our dogs were made very welcome. The food is great. We felt Covid-19 safety was very good and we didn't use the car for the whole two days as we didn't feel we needed to leave and go anywhere else.
On arrival (on a motorbike , ) we felt staff not very welcoming)
Room at back of hotel very disappointing
Only good points about our stay was the location of hotel and the outstanding
evening meal.
Massive compliments to the chef but waiting staff could do with customer service training.
The hotel has maintained it's character since my first visit many years ago. The gardens are stunning and the interiors have been tastefully decorated and suit the style of the property. The staff were great, and I'd definitely stay again.
Exceptional restaurant really high quality. Loved the cod. We will return!
Really polite and welcoming staff.
Our only regret is we didn’t stay for longer and would most certainly recommend this peaceful and tranquil hotel.
We couldn’t fault anything about this hotel! The best part was the building and the lovely rooms… this is one of the best places we have stayed and great value for money! The outside area is just lovely too …
