Fantastic modern and clean hotel in a great location for getting into the city on the no 29 bus. £4 return to Princess Street and 35 mins. Fantastic breakfast anc all the staff were so helpful and kind. Will be staying again in the future.

We had a gorgeous stay in the Scotsman! The rooms are very clean and super comfortable. We even upgraded to city view and had an amazing surprise of a tower in our room!! We even did a movie in the theatre on the bottom floor and that was lovely.

We visited Edinburgh and surrounding areas rather than Dalkeith and ate mainly in our hotel facilities apart from small lunches in town. We had visited Dalkeith previous and it is simple to visit attractions nearby but not all of them are our scene and the one visit previous did suffice, also we did not bring a car this time so Dalkeith and surrounding attractions weren't quite so viable whereas Edinburgh has many central attractions to walk to or by bus.ronald - 10Scored 10

Great place to stay, clean and comfortable. Bus service readily available running all day and late at night. Breakfast was very nice and the the staff were very helpful, accomidating and polite. We would highly recommend.

Contactless check in was quick and hassle free. Feels more like a private appartment with fridge and microwave. Bed was very comfortable. Shower room was large and very nice. Lots of places to eat and drink. We chose the local Dominos and ate in the room watching movie. Dalkeith country park 2 mins walk away. Good bus service into Edinburgh (45 mins)

I booked this for my disabled mum she was attending a family funeral the staff was very accomodating she had a disabled access room it was comfortable and very spacious for her to get around with ease and plenty of room for her wheelchair it was like a home away from home.the hotel had a separate restaurant where you could book a table the food was amazing.DonnaUnited Kingdom

Very quiet and peaceful surroundings, very easy to get around on the bus or rail to Edinburgh and the Royal Mile. Room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast were delightful and very filling and our host also provided advise to sights and attractions. Wish we could have stayed longer. Very friendly. We arrived late at night, and the girl at reception was very welcoming. She was expecting us and had the key ready so we could get straight to bed- it was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was delicious. After our stay, I realised I had left an item behind. I contacted the hotel by message at 11pm, and they responded within minutes to let me know it was found and was kept for me.
