Staff were excellent in the bar/restaurant area, the bar/restaurant area was trimmed nicely for the Christmas period and does have a very welcoming and warm feel to it. Drinks are a bit pricy though. The Location - Great location for bars, restaurants and the retail facilities in Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Town. The room - Decorated to a modern style but there were some damage to painted areas which just need a touch up. The main let down was we found someone else's boxer shorts in the bin in the en-suite, toe nail clipping on the floor in the en-suite and the door to the en-suite very noisy. These are simple things that should not be seen by the 'next guest' in to a room that should be cleaned properly between guests staying. However, we would stay again as I'd expect the owners to act on these issues if they read these reviews.

Alderley Edge is a very affluent part of cheshire known as part of the golden triangle or Wilmsow, Alderley Edge and Prestbury. Lots of footballers and famous people live here so can be seen in and around the local bars and restaurants. If you like car spotting come here as Lambo's and Ferraris are ten a penny along with every Chelsea tractor known to man. Lovely people and a great laid back vibe and must visit as well as a walk up to Edge with stunning views over the Cheshire downs.

Alderley Edge is a great place to stay for the weekend.

Alderley Edge is a great place to stay for the weekend. Cafes and restaurants are good and close to each other. It is also good base if you want to walk around the local countryside and if you want to go further afield there is a station nearby that stops at other towns and Manchester.

We stayed to go to the Cheshire game and country fair on the Sunday, so didn't have a lot of time to look locally. The Hotel was a good stop off and would use it again for a look at the closer area.

We were visiting family in the area.

We were visiting family in the area. Alderley Edge is a convenient place to stay, close to Manchester Airport and with a station in the centre, and it is surrounded by some beautiful countryside. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants, both within the village and in the countryside nearby. There is a brilliant fish and chip shop near the hotel and an excellent independent bakery/patisserie, Weinholts, which is an institution in the high street.

We were only in the room for a quick sleep and shower before flying out of Manchester, but the room was sweet, and the host was incredibly kind and communicative. It was close to the train station, making easy transport to the Manchester airport. The neighborhood was beautiful, and many cute little coffee shops were open early so we could get a good meal in before our fight. This room is not in Manchester proper. It was easy to navigate on the trains, but keeping the train schedule in mind is essential.

The front of house staff were welcoming and friendly. The location is a good compromise - parking is a bit of an issue in Alderley Edge; At The Merlin, you stay in the outskirts of town and they have a big car park. The security of the hotel is good. There's a large restaurant which looked nice and the glass outbuilding was decorated beautifully. From here, it is perhaps a 10-15 minutes walk to the town centre, which isn't too far. Alderley Edge provides a good base for visitors to Jodrell Bank.

Nicely decorated hotel in the beautiful area of Alderley Edge, 15 min away from the airport by car or cab. Service was really attentive and food better than I could have expected. Surprising and delicious dishes throughout the menu at every time of the day. If you stay there, you don't need t go out for dinner anywhere else. Also, the free parking is hugely appreciated for those having a car.

Another lovely pub to stay in the small village of Alderley Edge. Good value for money. Room was comfy, bed was absolutely huge, parking, and we had dinner downstairs at night, and have to say it was one of the best meals we have had on our trip to the UK. Very tasty. Quaint pub, close to everything, walking distance to cafes, op shops, Waitrose and everywhere else. Good place to stay.

The staff were so lovely from welcoming us to departure, the covid regulations were well thought out so we felt very safe but at the same time able to relax and switch off and enjoy the atmosphere. The hotel is amazingly situated for a short five minute walk to London road for all the shops and restaurants, rooms very comfortable ♥️

OK... Hotel is absolutely lovely. Food and wine in the restaurant was just excellent. But, oh! the room (room 3) was tiny, hot and just not what we expected. No aircon, but upon opening the window we had the heat & noise from the aircon units on the roof outside.
