I really liked the accommodation - comfort, clean etc.
I really liked the accommodation - comfort, clean etc. The good thing about Stolberg were the very helpful friendly taxis. The town itself is quite run down and the train station has no wifi so I had to ask someone else to call a taxi. The train lines were being repaired so there was a replacement bus service which was OK, but running late which meant the long wait at Duren train station as we missed the train due to the bus running late.

A wonderful old town, which grew up around the copper/bronze...
A wonderful old town, which grew up around the copper/bronze industry, using hydopower. The old town centres on the oft-rebuilt castle, which hosts concerts, etc. The floods of July 2021 devastated the town, which is slowly rebuilding itself. Around the town, there are many forests for walks. And a 40-minute direct bus ride to Aachen. There are sufficient bars, restaurants, bakeries, food stores, etc.JudithLuxembourg

Ample parking in the street outside. I particularly liked the ample breakfast. Very helpful staff who could speak English. The old town is just down the road from the hotel and the old fort is worth a visit.
